Ok, look, yall know I'm trying not to consume Harry Potter news as much as possible because it just makes me sad.

But I keep seeing people react to this like "ugh! I can't believe homophobic China!"

And it's like

References to a gay relationship in “Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore” were edited out of the movie by Warner Bros. for the film’s release in China. Only six seconds of the movie’s 142-minute runtime were removed. Dialogue that was edited out alluded to the romantic past between male characters Dumbledore (Jude Law) and Grindelwald (Mads Mikkelsen).

SIX SECONDS?????????

It's been 12 years since this woman decided to confirm a SINGLE tragic gay character in an interview, and the first time it's actually acknowledged in the movies that are ABOUT HIM, it's the third in the franchise and it's only SIX SECONDS???

It's 2022 and the best these mother fuckers can manage is SIX SECONDS of fucking DIALOGUE that is so inconsequential that it can just be snipped out without even impacting THE SCENE ITS IN, much less the actual plot of the movie?
