My Flowchart. sorry the quality is a bit ass. I also think that New X-Men (2004) #20-46 is well worth a read, though it doesn't super focus on Laura. However, this is because NXM like. Did something to my brain. Trigger warnings for tons of teen death and some self-harm (Laura-typical).

X-23 (2005) should read X-23: Innocence Lost.

I put X-Force down as optional but if you're familiar with X-Men goings on at the time, or are okay with not super knowing what's going on, I HIGHLY recommend it. It's written by Christopher Yost and Craig Kyle, who are one of my favorite creative teams for Laura. As a warning, it's pretty "dark" and "gritty" (I hate describing things like that), and has a lot of blood/gore. Repeating the warnings for self-harm, at least one suicide attempt, and the way that Logan treats Laura in some scenes is. Not NOT abuse.

I forgot to add it but Venom (2011) 13, 13.1-13.4, 14 should be in-between X-23 and Avengers Academy. That's the Vemon: Circle of Four event. Laura goes to Hell (again). Not like, my all-time favorite characterization for her, but it's okay.

Select issues for the series you only need to read partially:

Avengers Academy issues 23-25, 27-39.

Avengers Arena 1-6, 8-11, 13-18.

(It might seem dumb to skip only 2 issues in an 18 issue series but like why would you read more of Arena than you need to.

Alternatively: Read the first and last issue and just imagine the rest before skipping immediately to All-New X-Men.)

All-New X-Men (2012) 19-24, 26, 28-36, 38-41.

Issues 38 and 39 are part of a cross-over event, you can read the other issues of that that Laura's in if you want? It doesn't focus on her like, at all.

All-New X-Men (2015) 1-6, 9, 12, 14-19, Annual 1, 1.MU (1.MU is the Monsters Unleashed tie-in. Laura is actually the focus there!)

You will notice if you go to that page that I omitted Laura's original appearance in NYX. This is because NYX is extremely fucking bad. If you read it, and you shouldn't, warning for more self harm and "underage prostitution" (read: underage sex trafficking). You will notice that I used the term "underage prostitution" instead of the correct term, underage sex trafficking. This is because NYX does not treat this as sex trafficking. I also am not a huge fan of the way that Black people are depicted. I repeat my point about NYX being bad.
