Open pastures of melting land,
I blindly navigate. Command,
My squadron of sailors to distant shores.
Humanity's land is there no more.
The Polar bears drowned years ago.
The ice caps still drip, slow, slow, slow.
The boats we ride are made of blood,
Sailing slowly across the flood.
The Tundra shimmers deep below,
The muddied waters we let go.
To waste. So many drowned.
The water crashed, and dulled the sound.
Of screams, screams, screams, beneath the roars
Of water. Disappeared, our shores.
They left with all our food and wine,
Our luxuries of centuries behind.
The dangers of pollution tore,
And now I sail with my fleet,
The world we walked beneath our feet.
With planks of stinking rotting wood,
And furs and coats with each a hood,
To blur out the stench of corpse and flesh,
That we had ate this morning fresh.
Because that's all that we had to eat,
Trust me it was but a rare treat.
We washed it down with salty brew,
Because that's all that we have too.
And now we search the horizon edge,
Men hanging blindly off the ledge.
Searching for some floating loot,
Some gum, a clip, an old work boot.
Hopefully, to keep us all alive,
So we can continue to survive.
