one thing about the matthew story is that he was trying so hard to find happiness that when he finally meets someone who appears to be the one for him, he realizes he’s actually happy and accepts this new love.
happiness we try to find it so hard when it’s actually right there with us. why is it so hard to notice? time will go by and then we’ll look back and think ‘oh i was so happy it was so easy back then’ but NOW we’re living that ‘back then’ and we’re still looking for that happiness. we have to surround ourselves with people that remind us that we’re happy and free.
