I've at last started Star City - four episodes in. Exactly what I needed when I've been a little down about FAM since s4. I appreciate how different it is while maintaining the connections and references to the world of the original series.

Loving Irina and Raskova, of course, and how wonderfully uncomfortable Anastasia is all the time.

While I think I'd be enjoying it on its own merit in an FAM-less world, I'm especially appreciating the clear lines of sight for Irina and Sergei from here to their FAM selves - the characterisation is fantastic and I want to chew on all the development they'll go through to get themselves there. Particularly so for Irina.

And the music is fab.

Eps 3 and 4 were a little slow in places for me but I see the latter half of the season got higher IMDB ratings so I'm hyped for finishing it tomorrow.
