Strongly recommend calling your reps and freaking out on the phone, both as a self care practice and so they can know that their normally chill constituents are saying things like “I guess if I can’t teach kindergarten teachers to be nicer anymore I shall have to become a bonus army”
A helpful reminder that your average Republican politician still quakes with fear when large numbers of people start asking things like “where’s my/my mom/my grandma’s social security and what are you doing to protect it?” It would be genuinely less scary for you to threaten them with violence than to politely state that you are concerned that your Korea War Veteran grandpa might not get his social security on time.
“Hi, I’m calling on behalf of a extremely sympathetic and socially conservative demographic that always votes, doesn’t have a day job and that cops cannot shoot to see if you are going to prevent them from having groceries. Thanks and have great day!” It’s like firebombing their office but totally legal and can be done from bed.

Support them. If your Senator is a Democrat and isn't involved in this, call their office and ask why not. They are supposed to be representing you, and we didn't elect them to get into office and sit on their hands.

New York attorney general tells hospitals to continue transgender care after Trump’s executive order.
In a letter, [Attorney General Letitia] James, a Democrat, told health care facilities that refusing to provide the treatments would violate New York’s anti-discrimination laws.

Usually I provide alternate means, but y'all, call at 2 am if you don't want to talk to a person, but this time, we need you to actually physically call. This one isn't email priority. It's please fucking call your Senators priority. I have been clear about not being alarmist, so let me say that this is one that we need to defeat. If your Senator is already firmly in the "no" camp, like mine, who introduced bills to make Bostock law, encourage them to be loud/louder about their no.
Even if your representative is a Democrat, call them anyway.
Some actions you can take today if you’re in the US especially if you live in a Blue state
Contact your governor & attorney general today. I’ve heard calls are better than emails.
Blue states fund the country, while red states actually cost the federal government money. So blue states have a lot of leverage they could be using. And some states like Washington are doing this exactly. But we need all the blue states to come together as a united front.
Ask your governor and attorney general to form a state coalition with other blue states to withhold their tax dollars unless Elon Musk is removed. Ask them to withhold the state’s federal taxes until the US treasury can be trusted with again.
Then
Ask for Elon Musk to be criminally charged in your state for staging a coup and taking over the US treasury as civilian. (You can also add something about him interfering with the 2025 election. But the focus should be on the treasury)
The president cannot pardon state charges. Over the past decade+ republicans have been making state governments stronger than the federal government. Which could be their downfall if used correctly.

update on this, if people want to reblog this to spread information to any trans person who is getting their gender marker changed with social security after the executive order:
today i went and was able to change my gender marker along with my name with social security. even though the page that guides you has been taken down you are STILL ABLE to do so. here is a link to the way back machine for the page and here is a link to the form you will need and here is another source that can help you prepare for federal crackdowns
don't be deterred by the removal of the page. there is still time, but possibly not a lot of it. if you can do this fast, do it.
it's worth noting that it's FREE to change your gender marker with social security. when you change your gender marker with social security, what you change it to does NOT have to match your other current IDs.
double check your state policies, and what you will personally need, but the overall message of this post is that there is STILL TIME despite the executive order. don't give up hope.
