I feel like if anything, snow in July should prove a thing or two about the reality of global warming. Even if I’m pretty sure this isn’t actually 

Just hire a local kid. There’s always a few future entrepreneurs eager to make some quick cash around. The kid down the street from me does mine. Does a pretty decent job too, if you want me to put in a good word. Infinitely cheaper than a snowblower. Just saying.

I mean, it proves climate change. But I’m pretty sure a big part of the reason that there’s been such a push to call it climate change and not ‘global warming’ anymore is because of the idiots who think that global warming means we won’t be having strange cold weather changes in addition to hot weather changes. Nice to know you’re not one of those idiots though. 

Has that never happened here before? Seems like it’s just a strange enough place that this isn’t the first time it’s snowed in White Crest in July. 

I think most of the snowblowers are sold out in town by now but you can probably throw a few dollars to a neighborhood kid and they’ll do it for you. 

I feel like I can fairly confidently say ‘no’. This has never happened here before. Not in my life time, and presumably not in my parents or grandparents lifetimes. We fancy ourselves story tellers, and that would be one hell of a story to pass down. This town isn’t all that strange. Not so strange as to be home to regular abnormal weather phenomenons. 

Erm….well you make a good point but I really like frozen margaritas.  Also it’s supposed to be summer so frozen drinks are good.  It won’t really feel like summer if I’m drinking spiked hot chocolate.  Given your valid points though I will have a rethink and perhaps come up with some summer flavored cocktail instead.

Okay, okay, that’s a fair reason. I presume you’ve got your own frozen margarita machine too, then? What about a Moscow Mule? Russians infamously keep warm by drinking copious amounts of vodka, so, sounds like a promising drink for when its freezing cold in July. Or, hey, if its just for one night or so - and you’re willing to eat the cost - just stick to the original plan and crank the heat way up.

Is there a family friend discount I could use on top of that White Crest rate? 

It’s a bit like leap year, only happens every few years, so it’s completely understandable that you mixed up the frequency. I hate the beach and I would still pick it over snowmen, even if this is a normal occurrence. 

Of course! The child who I pay to do my driveway is year round. He mows the lawn sometimes. I think he has a younger sister who works like that too. I’ll send you their info - don’t pay them better than I do though, or they might pick you over me in the case of a snowstorm :/ 

Yeah... what’s the cycle again? Once every 38 years? Cause this is my first time seeing this, so must not be all that frequent. So you hate the beach but you hate snowmen more? What have the poor snow-people ever done to you?

Oh, Miles, climate change isn’t real! Look at all this in season weather! Nothing to see here, all is fine. Pay a child to do the work for you, that way it isn’t so strenuous and they get some cash, it all works out

Shit, you’re right. I forgot about the annual end of July snowfalls. How could I forget. Very in season - July is meant for snowfall not for sun-rays. Who needs a beach day when you can make a snowman. 

Anyone else have these creepy ravens always outside their window? I’ve killed a few of the pendejos but there’s more. It all started after some dinner a walk in the woods if that means anything. I just want to get a glass of wine in peace, and now they’re starting to creep out my patrons and cat. Does anyone know how to get rid of them? Please pm me if so.

But I’m not really sure, beyond erecting a scarecrow, how to chase them off of your property. 

Alright White Crest, I am totally fed up with this freezing weather.  I want sunshine and summer.  So here is my plan, we turn up the heating, make some frozen margaritas and put on some proper summer tunes.  Who is with me?  Bonus points if you have one of those funny sunshine lamp things to top up our vitamin D at the same time.

Why would you make a frozen margarita if you’re complaining about the cold? I mean, to crank the heat up high enough that you would feel the need for a frozen beverage is going to absolutely wreck your electric bill. 

But anyway, if anyone’s got a good snowblower they recommend getting I’d love to hear about it. All this shoveling is getting a bit too strenuous. 

For me it's less about the content of the "dream story" and more about the impact. I've known some journalists who want to interview a prominent figure or break a political story or snuff out corruption. In the big picture, I just want to write something that makes the world a little bit better. I view journalism as my tikkun olam; writing meaningful stories and doing my best to repair our world.

Yeah. Right now more than ever, but that's more because I don't feel like I have control. I think anyone, save those who maybe don’t experience a normal range of emotions, can feel out of control at times. I think it can happen for a lot of different reasons; sometimes it’s a helpless out of control and sometimes it might be fueled by rage. 

I felt out of control during a lot of the big somber moments in my life. I feel out of control right  now. 

So I was a weeeee bit too optimistic about being able to balance my workload while studying for the bar and being a meaningful contributing member of this group. So Imma be going off on another hiatus until after the bar is over (it’s July 26-27). Gonna give myself a day to decompress, so this hiatus will be ending on July 29th. I am unemployed and presently have no job prospects so that means .... when July 29th comes around I will literally having nothing standing in the way of me and writing with all of you. 😛
