Barry Allen (21) Is a grad school genius who is currently studying chemistry. He became the Flash three years ago whilst messing around in his lab with an ancient artifact he’d found right in his backyard. He’s well known in his school as a cheerful and scary smart guy who never seems to have any time to hang out after classes. One day, while a middle school class is touring the lab where he works, Wally (12) wanders off and right into Barry’s (very off limits) lab. The magic from the artifacts reacts to his presence, and the next thing Barry knows, he’s got a superpowered kid to take care of.
Wally’s parents seem to be perpetually out of business, so Barry begrudgingly takes on a sort of parental role. While Wally isn’t upset at all with his new powers, Barry feels incredible guilt for roping Wally into everything. Exhausted from his new responsibilities, he isn’t quite sure what to do with the kid other than supervise him as much as he can. The two grow closer as they train together, and create an indestructible brotherly bond.
