I just love that this very video is an accumulation of thousands of years worth of art made by people who have never met each other. The concept of this video was so completely unfathomable to every single artist who made the sculptures and yet they’ve all put something toward the creation of it.

I was thinking about the Odyssey and how Nolan entirely cut out the gods, but kept in the underworld scene.

I understand why the gods were cut (though I dislike it) so as to keep a sense of plausibility, wherein the Greek gods could’ve theoretically existed or not existed, the same way any modern gods could plausibly exist, but if that’s the case, why keep the underworld scene?? The afterlife is so crucial to the religion. You can’t just pick and choose which aspects are “real” to the plot.

If Odysseus can visit the underworld, see his dead comrades, and receive a prophecy from Tiresias, then why can’t Hermes and Aeolus have any role in the story?

#the longer I think about this movie the angrier I get #like obviously the underworld scene is crucial to the plot #but it just highlights how ridiculous the choice to cut the gods is #anyway #the odyssey nolan #the odyssey 2026 #the odyssey

Colt who now is an adult -court who has been 'dead' longer than colt knew him, and ryland, who left the planet years ago.

Colt, who hasn't been called 'coltland' in years, and would give anything to feel close to his brothers again.
