"[The] Magistracy Armed Forces Outreach program was created as a way to remedy the relatively lacking combat experience of the Canopian armed forces, by enticing experienced foreign military personnel and mercenaries to join the MAF. Lucrative sign-up bonuses were on offer for capable officers and MechWarriors.

Ensign Mira Sunwell is one of the faces of the outreach initiative. Formerly an entertainer, she kept her distinctive catgirl implants after joining the military. This attention-grabbing (and stereotypical for foreigners) look coupled with actual accomplishments in combat as a MechWarrior earned her a prominent spot on a good number of posters, leaflets and merchandise. The designers were not shy to use her appeal to the fullest.

She also acts as an instructor in the outreach orientation course, so nobody could blame the Magistracy for false advertisement. Many dreams were crushed however, as people realized that while Mira wanted them in her lance, she did not not, in fact, want their lance in her."

This post above unfortunately tracks with reports of many union linked/involved devs at Microsoft/Xbox being """coincidentally""" laid off last week.

There were a large number of ""middle manager"" types which were affected by the layoffs, but regardless the fact is the vast bulk of people laid off were loyal hardworking employees who were not part of any alleged "management bloat problem"
