theres this guy who will approach people (im assuming just women) when theyre alone and acts really friendly and courteous but essentially tries to trap you either physically or through the niceties of conversation. ive encountered him twice now, once in bramalea city center, and just today at chingcousy park

he acts new in town, either asking for directions or the name of the place and just keeps talking, apologizing for stopping/interrupting you, and then tries to get your contact information by saying “oh you are so friendly to me, from the moment i stopped you. im looking for new friends and you are so kind…” it sounds extremely rehearsed and was the exact same conversation both times. if you try to walk away he will walk with you and keep trying to drag you back into speaking with him. he still used the friendly line today even though i was outwardly rude and was almost aggressively walking away

at the mall he tried to corner me against the wall, moving side to side and constantly stepping closer. even though he isnt that much taller than me he was looming. at the park it was the same thing minus the wall and once i recognized him i rejected his conversation and said “youve tried this on me before, im not interested” and tried to leave but he started following closely behind me. he only left once i went to stand next to a family that was nearby. thankfully at the mall he didnt pursue me cause there were lots of people around but at the park there was just the one family

i dont have a picture though if i encounter him again im taking one, but he’s about 5'5"/5'6", black, usually wearing a snapback, he looks and acts friendly enough but his body language is off, he is constantly moving closer to you, walks with you like he knows you, and he was staring at my chest and looking me up and down the whole time

i could just be paranoid, he may actually be genuine (he definitely sounds it) but since im often mistaken for someone who is 16/17, and at the mall i saw him try it with someone else, i just want people to be aware. the whole situation set off warning bells and the fact that he followed me this time set me on edge. even if someone is being nice and sincere, dont be afraid to be rude back if your gut is telling you to run
