Legendary Quests

This might as well have been a rare pokemon sighting, based on how a lot of the class reacted.

Alysa curiously gazed over at where the white-haired dragon tamer had chosen to hang back, from one of the many gazebos in the Savanna Biome. He had his arms behind his head and a rather bored, unamused look on his face. His (late) arrival was unceremonious, but that didn't stop their teacher from commenting on it. 'Good of you to grace us with your presence, Drayton.'

Nearby, she did catch his name spoken in the whispers from some of their classmates, as well as repeated glances sent towards him. No one went out of their way to speak to him though, possibly to not interrupt the daily lecture for their Pokemon Biology II course that was underway. Alysa was half paying attention to it, hung up on the surprise that she did actually share a class with Drayton. Only now did she realize it of course, as she would've been none the wiser if he never showed up at all throughout this term.

Their teacher had ended the lecture off rather quickly, and the reason why was revealed seconds later. Today they would be doing their "Who's that Pokemon?" group assignment, in which everyone was to be paired with one other classmate and sent on a hunt around the Terarium for a specific wild pokemon. The challenge was that the pokemon had to be the answer to the riddle every pair would be receiving at random, and each would be a unique riddle at that, so there couldn't be any cheating. All pairs were randomly decided upon prior to today's class as well. They would have the rest of class time today, as well as tomorrow, to solve their riddle.

Alysa was left with jitters after everything was set, and her peers started to depart in their pairs. Her partner just so happened to be...Drayton. She couldn't determine why that made her antsy, but it wasn't in a negative way. It could be her social nerves flaring up, yet again.

Regardless the girl smiled as she approached him, holding the slip of paper displaying their clue. His reason for coming to class was unknown to her, but hopefully it didn't sour his mood.

Although, that didn't go according to plan. The class was cut short, cool. The reason? Not so cool. A group assignment was given out. While solving a riddle didn't seem to hard, running around after a Pokemon would be more challenging.

While others filtered out, Drayton remained in place, certain that his partner would come to him. And lo and behold, he was granted a familiar face. Huh, who would have thought he would see her again in class? It'll definitely make this assignment much more bearable at least.

She could have spent longer petting and fawning over Corviknight but then, Ophelia didn't want to be rude and keep him and his trainer from whatever errands or task they'd been out and about for in the first place. She does however, seeing Corviknight's sad eyes, relent and reach up to give him another few extra pets. What can she say? She was a sucker for that dark, glassy red gaze.

"Sounds like your friends have had their Skarmories for awhile, plenty of time to train and bond with them. I've only had Silverhawk for maybe a year, not even. We're still working on understanding each other." Ophelia scratches the bridge of her nose absently, "I'd like to be able to Mega Evolve him at some point but that's probably far off still."

Zeke grumbles again, head shaking, as if he didn't believe it were possible. Not that he doubted his trainer but more that he wasn't convinced Skarmory would be any less bullheaded about trying to be friends with her. The Aura Pokemon does get a bit closer to Corviknight though so they could be properly acquainted, tail wagging slowly.

Ophelia keeps an eye on that interaction, all while accepting Amethio's offered hand to shake firmly. Her face lights up with a shy but friendly smile, "Alors, it's nice to meet you too, Amethio." They part and her hand slips into her jacket pocket, "Corviknight is pretty cool, I haven't been to Galar in awhile but they've always been some of my faves."

"Yes, they've been with each other for a long while. I'm sure after some more training you'll be on good terms." He does have his doubts after hearing how long she's had him, but he's not going to be rude towards her. Besides, he does believe that given enough time, her and her Pokemon could be on better terms.

"I've had him since he was a Rookidee, although he was caught in Paldea." His hand drops to his side once their introductions are over. He pauses when she asks why he's here. He can't exactly tell someone what he's looking for. Zygarde cells aren't exactly the easist things to find. But he can answer with his other objective.

It had been a while since Lynn saw the borrow ride service in action. "Gotta admit that is way more convenient than having to harness your own pokemon for travel," she added with a soft chuckle.

Ah yes. The treatment. "Well, ehhh...it's more I shouldn't let this get worse," she said as she accepted Marie's hand hoisting herself up carefully as per the other girl's worried suggestion. Seriously that fact she got the injury was embarrassing.

As soon as the stoutland made their appearance the delivery girl couldn't help but make a soft gasp, then gingerly clasps her hands on either side of the canine pokemon's face giving much deserved smooshs and scritches. "Who's a good....?"

She paused mid-endearment, an ahem eliciting from her. With the stoutland now laying down and lowered it would be easier to Lynn to hop on. Well on paper. She still had to deal with that annoying sprain.

A pause as she watches her pet the big dog Pokemon. Stoutland doesn't seem to mind it, probably use to the occasional affection from some trainers. If that doesn't prove that she is pretty okay, then she isn't sure what will. A part of her wishes to do the same...maybe she'll just give her Delphox affection later since it's fluffy too.

With a relieved sigh, Marie is grateful that Lynn was able to get onto the Pokemon. Trying not to upset the sprain was the hardest part. "I do know the nearest clinic...unless if you have a preference?"

     “ Given the way you fell, I feel like that isn't entirely true. ” Especially given the way he winces when she finally finishes up bandaging him. Once she's stood up properly, she holds a hand out for him. Best to make sure he's really alright, after all.

     “ I think that I'd fuss over anyone who got startled like that… even if it wasn't because of Papanași here. ”

     Free hand moves to stroke the large creature's side and he seems to just eat it up. Relaxation paints those dopey features and he butts his head against her hand after a moment. “ Mhm! He's a really sweet boy. A bit of an attention hound at times, too, huh, baby~? Yeah, I know~. Ahem – um, but it's fine, really. I don't think anyone outside of Cthonia has seen a Pokemon this big outside of Mega Evolutions or Dynamax'ing. ”

"Perhaps you're right. Although you did take care of it properly."

"Vic!" She happily says his name, maybe a bit too excited. But it's not like she runs into a familiar face every day. After a moment, she reels back, but there's still a smile on her face. "It has been a while...what brings you out here? Are you out on a walk with your Pokemon?" She looks to the Umbreon, giving it a wave to greet it as they approach.

Vic let out a little chuckle, seeing how Vivian being this excited as she ran towards him, only stopping when the two were face-to-face.

"Havin' a job to do like always, but doin' a walk with my partner once and awhile is also important, yeah?" Putting his hands on his pockets, he took a good look at her. "How 'bout you, Vivi? How's the whole dragon taming thing you're doin'?"

"Yup! Taking a break to spend time with your partner is important." She nods in agreement. Even if she didn't have any of her Pokemon currently out, she did spend time with them when possible.

The brunette could help but chuckle. "Got plenty of water types that are almost always in the mood to visit the beach. No matter the time of day..or night." The staryu would do an approving spin leap as if to say they were some sort of genius that the idea to go out was all their own. Not to mention the excitement of seeing another pokemon. One they didn't quite recognize. Nor did Lynn.

"Ah, I don't believe I've really encountered of them this close before," Lynn said gesturing toward the clodsire. "Would they be a water type as well?"

"Wish I could say the same. This guy is just curious. It's not every day he gets to go out to a beach." Clodsire looks amazed at Staryu's spin leap, as if it hadn't seen that before. Still, that doesn't deter it from getting closer, only stopping when its near the other trainer and her Pokemon.

"Nah, these guys are Poison and Ground types. The Paldean ones lost their Water typing due to their habitat. But I don't wanna bore you with all that." She waves a hand. It's not really the time for regional differences in Woopers and their evolutions. Rika wouldn't mind going off about it, but at this hour? She figured that could be saved for another time.
