“People often feel women are maybe more emotional,” she says. “And I can be emotional. I’m not at all when I’m on the pit wall, but I can be in other things in life. That is a strength. And as more and more women get into positions of responsibility, we can show how good that is. Empathy is so important, and a really valuable trait for a leader.”

And sometimes it goes the other way round because love and light many sports fans might be equally well served by the Broadway and/or touring cast of Newsies. Like you don’t care about stats you just want to make things up about a fit young man with no screen time.
ultimately the fact that every character in lltbp is shaking out to be a pervert makes total sense. stage actors are huge freaks and a character with no dialogue and only the loosest staging is like prime pervertification material they can’t help themselves
basically every weekend now
helloooo ask game question two I’m very curious :)

oh i love this one. questions for fic writers here
2. Go to your AO3 “Works” page, to the sidebar with all the filters, and click the drop-down arrow for “Additional Tags.” What are your top 3-5 most used tags? Do you think they accurately represent your writing habits?
Alternate Universe - Pirate (9)
Canon Compliant (5)
And in a three-way tie for third with 4 each, we have Crossover, Friends to Lovers, and Belligerent Sexual Tension
Dear God. Yeah, they've got me. The pirate numbers are artificially inflated because 8 of 9 are 1.5k oneshots in a miniseries, but considering my full-length play script is about pirates and also the everything about me, yeah.
Canon compliance and crossovers are two sides of the same writing joy, which is The Puzzle. Sometimes that means "what role would this person occupy in this AU, given that X is already Y and A is B?" (Love Bites started as just doing that for fun, and then a plot snuck up on me). Sometimes that means "given how long this scene is in canon, how much dialogue can I fit between these two moments while they're in the other room?" (this was high school me writing INTENSELY canon-compliant HP minor character longfic. I have never changed.) Both things scratch the itches in my brain so so so nicely.
Wait update I just sorted by Friends to Lovers to remind myself what I tagged, and it gets a bonus entry because the system also includes Childhood Friends to Lovers. Man. I love knowing someone so deeply you can't help but fall for them. [michael scott voice] sure would like to be a part of one someday.
Belligerent Sexual Tension I have no excuse for it's just sexy when you do it right. I have given this trope to everyone from Jaskier Thewitcher to Max Verstappen, and I will do it again. Also it exists untagged in several longfics so it should be higher up there too.

12 and 15 please for the fic asks :)
hello!! questions for fic writers
12. Are there any tropes you used to dislike but have grown on you?
More of a shift than a like/dislike, but I used to prefer a stricter love triangle, and these days I am MUCH more likely to go for And They're All In Love With Each Other.
15. What’s your favorite AU that you’ve written?
SO MANY. god. I'm an AU girlie to my core. circa 2016 I had a BANGER Once Upon a Time AU about the Nightmare before Christmas, but I'd need to rewatch if I wanted to finish it because I can't remember the plot-relevant details of Rumplestiltskin's complicated schemes.
My first bandom longfic was melittarilow's best crack at gothic romance/mystery, as you may tell by the fact that I called it Ghosts in the Snow; or, the Christening of Miss Black Parade and the Madness of Mother War. This one is SO dear to me. I loved all the tropes: the creepy tower, the weird mother, the Concerned Outsiders. I also wrote it in second person, which was a really fun exercise in how you unfold a mystery and what your narrator sees and how she interprets it. It hits every time I reread it!
Also I did put my most beloved drivers on pirate ships, because shameless self-indulgence is so important. Alex gets a sword at his throat. George wears a flowy shirt and Yearns. Charles broods on a sand dune but in a marooning way this time. What more could I want?!
21 in regards to the timberwolf and the terror for the fic question thingy :)
questions for fic writers!
21. If you wrote a “missing scene” in [insert fic], what would it be?
There actually is a big chunk that I would have written had fate and editing not taken me another direction! In my first crack at The Timberwolf and the Terror (my beloved), it was going to be the two halves of the story (TAYF era and reunion era, if you will) as a two-part series rather than interpolated like they ended up being. And in that world, I was going to write what I called "the straylight run midquel" which was just the adventures of the Nolans and friends. Did I have plans for it? No. But it would have been great.
Also we kept joking about Matt Rubano joining up with a traveling magician (Soul Punk Patrick Stump) after he got double marooned, and that would be fun.

questions for fic writers! lotta 8's from the inimitable ghoul
28. Does anyone read your fics before you post them? If so, who?
Always, but it depends who! Usually somebody I've been yelling at in DMs, and usually (but not always!) someone who knows the fandom. My IRL best friend read all my bandom longfics and it was SUPER helpful to keep me from coasting on familiarity and write a story that holds up.
38. Did any of your fics get surprisingly popular (whatever that means to you)? Which ones? Why do you think they were so successful?
The fluffy Wars of the Roses alternate history/fix-it is one of my top fics and I can only assume it's because everybody who is on AO3 looking up the Wars of the Roses also likes imagining that these poor bastards are okay.
48. What’s the last fic you read? Do you recommend it?
YEAH. YEP. afraid of a mountain by @forcederror. GORGEOUS friends to we-fucked-this-up to lovers that's so well-calibrated the later romance beats made me tear up. The author lets George be a dipshit without losing the audience rooting for him, girl!Lando is a note-perfect best friend, and of course girl!Alex is a great, well-rounded protagonist with so much going on alongside the romance. I wanted the world for her! ugh. idk if I would recommend it to you ghoul personally. but in general. i recommend it to The People.
