so my feelings about Val Velocity are. complicated. both as a Party Poison fictive and as an outside observer

I see a lot of myself in Val.

as poison, I see him as how I would've ended up without kobra.

I also see myself in him as someone who experiences paranoia, specifically around the idea of being harmed. to me, he's a pretty good representation of someone who doesn't know how to handle their paranoia, or who doesn't know that's what's happening in the first place.

unfortunately, being a good representation of my struggles doesn't always mean I like a character.

I don't hate val velocity, but I certainly don't like him.

to me, looking at him is like looking at a fun house mirror that only shows you the worst version of yourself.

I also tend to not like him in the moments where he's (probably) consciously being a complete douchebag. but that's kind of just because I find him *annoying.*
