✨ A Little Commission PSA! ✨

Hey besties!! Just a few friendly notes for anyone planning to commission me!!! The previous pinned commission post will no longer be effective, starting today.

A./ For spicy / +18 art requests: please remember that I ONLY take those from people who are 18 or older. I won’t be making any exceptions, no matter how cool your idea is! Please be respectful about that, safety and boundaries first!

B./ If you need your piece done extra fast, please TELL ME beforehand! I’m a student with ADHD and a pretty full schedule, so I have to plan things carefully. Rush work is totally possible, I just need to know in advance so I can make it happen without burning out-

C./ References are your best friend. The more you can give me (especially if your character is from a fandom I don’t know), the easier it’ll be for me to capture them right! Moodboards, poses, outfit ideas, color palettes—everything helps!!

I promise to always communicate about timelines, progress, and any delays that might come up. Life happens, but I’ll always keep you in the loop!

And of course, thank you so much for your support and trust 🥹💛 commissions keep me going (and help me afford soup, coffee, and art supplies).

Just a reminder that reposting my artworks (patreon's work included) anywhere—Discord, Pinterest, Tumblr, Instagram, your cousin’s paranormal cryptid forum etc—WITHOUT my permission is a big fat no. Nope. Non. Nein. Nuh-uh. Don’t do it.

Now, why am I writing this? Because apparently some people have the shameless confidence of a raccoon who broke into a bakery and are out here reposting works like it’s free samples at Costco (derogatory).

I don't care what's your bullshit excuse, it does not work on me.

Just because you can right-click something doesn’t mean you suddenly own it. This is not a medieval RPG where you loot everything not nailed down.

If you want to share my art: Ask. Literally just ask. I promise I don’t bite unless you repost without permission, then I absolutely will bite.

Life/studies update because... girl-💀 this week was a rollercoaster.

MY UNIVERSITY LIED TO ME & SCAMMED ME.

(If you missed my last post on my main, here's the long story short.)

About two years ago, I enrolled in an interior design course because it genuinely sounded like the thing for me. There was supposed to be art, support, internships, all that good stuff... and I was honestly really excited.

Well.

After almost two years, I started digging into some things because something wasn't sitting right with me those past weeks/months. Because we were supposed to get internships already, languages courses, more chat about partnerships with brands/corps the school was supposedly linked with etc.

...And that rabbit hole kept getting deeper.

The more I researched, the more I realised the course wasn't actually what I'd signed up for. They lied.

In the contract it is said there is a diploma at the end of the three years, well that diploma does not exist. I checked, I contacted previous students and yeah, that damn school lied. Cue me spending several days panic-researching, making phone calls, reading reviews from former students, having a minor existential crisis and asking myself if I'd accidentally picked the wrong dialogue option two years ago.

The answer was apparently: yes 😭

The good news, though? While desperately looking at alternatives, I found a formation that's centred around books. Like... actual books. Bookselling, recommending reads, organising cultural events, merchandising, meeting readers... and I remember reading the programme and just thinking, "Oh... wait. This actually sounds like me!"

It's shorter, way more affordable, recognised professionally, and if everything goes well, it would also leave me with a lot more time to keep making art, writing and working on all my fandom projects.

Do I wish I hadn't spent almost two years figuring all this out Absolutely.

Am I still sad about it? Yeah, a little.

But I also don't think those two years were completely wasted. I met lovely people, learned things, and they also helped me realise what I don't want, that's valuable too.

So I guess if there's one thing I'd tell anyone looking into higher education, it's this: Please. Ask questions. Then ask more questions. Read the contract. Read reviews. Talk to former students if you can.

Don't be embarrassed to ask "too many" questions. You're investing years of your life.

"Dragon Age: Inquisition" has completely reclaimed my soul (again). I'm also the head mod for the upcoming DAI Community Zine over on my main blog, so I've been happily buried in all things Thedas for a while now!

BG3 absolutely still has me in a chokehold (I don't think I'll ever truly escape it, nor do I want to)😭

I've also been obsessed with Silent Hill f! Considering my lifelong love of Japanese folklore, horror, and learning Japanese, it feels like it was handcrafted to target me specifically. The aesthetic? The mythology? The flowers? The existential dread? Incredible. I'm crafting the Kitsune mask Hinako has as well, so back into crafting I go!

My eternal love for body horror and monsters/terrato has also remained gloriously unchanged. If it's slightly unsettling, has too many eyes, or looks like it crawled out of an ancient forest at 3 a.m., chances are I'm already emotionally attached to it!

And then there's "The Apothecary Diaries", which has completely stolen my heart. I cannot recommend it enough!! Maomao is such a DELIGHT, and the mix of mystery, historical setting, court intrigue, medicine, and comedy is chef's kiss. I've had so much fun drawing fanart for it already! I just need to push myself to post them and finish the colored pieces BAHAH!

So... yes!😂 There is definitely new stuff coming! I have a lot of ideas I've been quietly working on, and now that life has calmed down a bit, I'm really excited to start sharing them again!

It's been a little while, so I wanted to give a proper update instead of quietly resurfacing like a cryptid emerging from the woods via reblogs and the occasional notes!

The past months have been... a lot, like I mentioned in recent posts. Between unexpected health issues, university, and suddenly becoming a full-time family caregiver, I got completely overwhelmed. Some things (including my commission workflow) ended up slipping through the cracks, and while there's context behind it, I know I could have communicated much better. I've been reaching out to the few people affected directly because I wanted to apologize properly instead of pretending it never happened.

The good news is that things have settled down a lot, and I've learned a very important lesson:

✨ My ADHD cannot be trusted with the ancient technique known as "I'll remember it later." ✨

So I'm giving Future Me some much-needed backup!

Over the next few days, I'll be finishing the brand new Carrd website I started yesterday, that will have everything commission-related, my shops, Patreon links and so on in one place: commission information, terms of service, queue, progress percentages, waitlist, FAQs, and updates etc. No more hunting through Tumblr posts and ten thousand reblogs to figure out what's happening (or me trying to remember which reblog contained important information... 🫠).

I'm also changing how I take commissions. Instead of opening lots of slots (my last batch had 14 people in it, which in hindsight may have been a tiny bit ambitious™)... I'll be opening much smaller batches that I know I can comfortably complete! I'd much rather have a shorter queue, better communication, and happier clients than try to juggle too much at once!

One thing that isn't changing, though: my prices! While I'm reorganizing everything, my commission prices will stay exactly the same! They're still available on there if you want to check out!

France (and a good chunk of Europe) has decided to roleplay the inside of an air fryer again, so here's your friendly artist reminders and tips because I'd like everyone, their artworks, AND their supplies to survive!

I./ Digital artists:

Please drink water. Your drawing hand is not powered exclusively by spite and caffeine. I know it's freaking cheesy but please do. It may not seem like you're "thirsty" because you're not "doing anything physical" but you need WATER. You can even add a bit of tea or flavored something if it makes you drink more and NO caffeine doesn't work cause that shit (lovingly) dehydrates you FAST.

Screens get HOT. If your tablet, laptop or PC starts sounding like it's preparing for takeoff, give it a break if you can, or if possible leave a fan on nearby AND turn off your devices. Even for a few minutes!

Don't leave tablets, styluses, chargers, laptops or sketchbooks baking in direct sunlight or inside a parked car. Your expensive rectangle deserves better.

If your hand keeps sticking to your tablet, a drawing glove can genuinely help (depends on the material of said-glove tho-)

Save your work more often than usual. Heat and random crashes are a cursed combo!

II./ Traditional artists:

A./ Oil painters:

PLEASE, for the love of everything spooky CHECK where you're storing your solvents, white spirits, turpentine substitutes, linseed oil, mediums, varnishes, etc!!!

Keep them tightly sealed and away from direct heat and sunlight!

Read the labels!!! Most (if not all of them) literally tell you not to expose them to high temperatures!

Oily rags deserve their own paragraph because THEY CAN BE A FIRE RISK. Don't leave oil-soaked paper towels or rags scrunched into a little gremlin ball. Spread them out to dry safely or dispose of them according to the product's safety instructions. Spontaneous combustion is one of those sentences that sounds fake until it isn't!

If you can, wash them with soap and water, and then leaves them to dry. It won't take forever to dry with the heat so you can give yourself some grace, you don't have to clutch that oil paint and solvants-soaked rag, baby.

B./ Watercolour & Gouache:

Water evaporates ridiculously fast. Your palette is going to dry every seven business seconds. Mist palettes if needed!

Since it's a heatwave, there is not really the mold issue that may happen, but in case it does (often happens when you leave water in your gouache palette etc and close it, then let it "sit" like that) : if you do have this issue just mix some tea tree essential oil (or lavender) with water. Like I put ten drops/15 drops for 100ml of water. You can spray that on your gouache! That's what I did with my Himi gouache when I got mold in it last winter and I have not gotten some ever since, plus it literally ressucitated my crusty pans into their og goey perfect selves)

Change your rinse water more often because warm water gets gross surprisingly quickly.

C./ Graphite & Coloured Pencil:

Honestly? You're probably winning the heatwave Olympics. Just don't leave sketchbooks in a hot car because warped paper is deeply annoying.

D./ Soft Pastels & Oil Pastels:

Heat can soften sticks and make everything extra smudgy. Or literally hellish.

Store them somewhere cool if possible and don't leave them melting in the sun like sad little crayons. BUT NOT IN THE FRIDGE I BEG OF YOU-

E./ Ink:

Some inks evaporate faster than you'd expect once opened.Close bottles as soon as you're done using them, and don't let them roast beside a sunny window. Also if you're using glass/plastic thingies to pour ink into, please check and make sure you do not leave brushes in there or it'll be a pain to remove!

III./ General studio survival:

Open windows when it's cooler outside. Close blinds if possible (at night for example) and leave the windows open.

If you're using products with fumes, make ventilation a priority!

Wash your hands after using solvents and pigments, always. Not depending on heatwave, you should do this, period.

If you start feeling dizzy, nauseous or get a headache, stop. Heat exhaustion is not an artistic medium nor is calling 911.

Keep a water bottle nearby. Yes, this is me reminding myself too.

Stay safe, stay hydrated, and may your brushes stay clean, your paint stay where it's supposed to, and your computer fans not achieve sentience.

Hi hello I return once again with another episode of “things my body has decided to be aggressively allergic to for lore reasons”. You may remember I said I’d be back to art after my little allergic shock era.

That was… optimistic at best, and delulu at worst.

Since then I have, in no particular order:

overexposed myself to hot sauce to the point now my body has decided that spicy food is a threat level emergency and we’re doing anaphylaxis about it. Had three allergic shocks in a WEEK because of it (my immune system is clearly freelance and bad at its job). the whole package, sore throat, eye oedemas, stomach stuff, rashes everywhere, struggles to breathe etc.

discovered acrylate allergy after getting gel nails (love that) so blisters all over the hands.

also UV lamp burns on my hands, because why have one issue when you can collect them like cursed trading cards. The lamp had an issue and I paid the price.

and exams. tons of it.

also France currently has a 45 degrees celsius temperature where I am and it's been going on for too long, that heatwave is HELL.

sooooooooo basically I am currently operating as a highly sensitive artifact that must not be exposed to light, heat, chemicals, or joy.

Good news: I am better now, recovery is happening. My skin is slowly remembering it is supposed to be a skin and not a protest art installation.

Bad news: my hands still currently look a bit like they’ve been through 3 different indie horror films and a minor wizard duel

Anyway I’m still here, still alive, still slightly confused about which foods are trying to kill me now.

If I disappear again assume I either:

looked at a UV lamp wrong

sneezed near paprika

or offended a molecule
