the user base of tumblr is a specific demographic of people who were ‘the smart kid’ growing up but didn’t do as well academically as they got older due to mental health struggles, were probably bullied in school and were quite lonely & introverted so they took solace in reading but now rarely pick up a book, grew up on tumblr but continued using it into adulthood unlike most of their peers who stopped using it after it lost popularity

also applies to “what are you depressed about” like binch????????? everything???? Nothing???? Who knows????? Never had a rational thought in my life

my nonverbal ass is shook bc apparently (according to the replies) people who think in sentences also read in mental sentences... like when ur reading it’s as if there is a voice inside their heads reading it as if out loud. w i l d

This has pretty interesting implications wrt mind reading. If your character is a telepath, will they have an easier time reading the minds of people with an internal monologue? Will they have to interpret abstract images from the minds of people who don’t? Or will both come intuitively?

I only ever think in sentences so this is fascinating.
