bringing this excerpt back out of storage because june is approaching and i can already feel myself entering my annual descent into melancholy

i’m sorry i disappeared for a while. to be honest the past year and a half has been what you could call ‘the dark night of the soul.’

something quite traumatic happened to me. and since then i’ve been navigating legal battles, major life changes, and some pretty heavy mental health challenges. it turns out that trying to hold bad people accountable can cost you a great deal financially and emotionally alike.

as a consequence my writing has become quieter. lately the small amount of creative energy i do have has been going toward more tactile things. painting, music, working with my hands. poetry for now has been dormant. but i still hope to return to it gently!! whenever my mind allows me to. i still dream of publishing a book in the near future.

thank you for the kindness you’ve all continued to show me while i’ve been away. your messages have meant more to me than you probably realise. i’ve had tumblr for over 10 years and it’s still my favourite place on this big super information highway.
