Cave art inspired deer herd.

All the June-July 2025 paintings featuring deer together. Acrylic and gouache on A5 watercolour paper. 1-2 hours each. Prints now on my Etsy shop. eredhes.etsy.com

This is probably the largest art I've made in a long time; it's 16x48 inches at 300dpi. All of the animals are inspired by petroglyphs and cave art from around the world on top of the shapes found within the animals themselves. It started with the center buck who was originally drawn in my sketchbook and slowly began to take on a life of its own. I'd love to paint this on a building somewhere.

"Eclipse" - digital. Could totally be a print I'm sure if I wasn't a coward. One life eclipses another; Smilodon takes down a whitetail deer. Inspired by petroglyphs, cave art, and ancient Scythian art. It's weird to think that the whitetail deer survived the ice age and made it to the present but many of its predators did not.

Man’s best friend - an 8400 year old dog burial found in Ljungaviken, Blekinge in 2020, is the oldest of its kind in Sweden. The grave contained some small gifts for the dog to enjoy in the next realm. Photo: Blekinge Museum
