Hey guys! Here’s a brand new interview with italian artist Matteo Nangeroni! Hope you all like it 💖
Matteo is from Italy, precisely from Padova (a town close to Venice). He works at his studio “The White whale tattoo Society” and has been tattooing since 2014. He loves everything about nature, travels and working with wood.
What are some of your favorite surrealistic artists? My favorite is definitly Gilbert Garçin, a surrealist photographer. But I also like big classic as Magliette, Dalí, Bacon, etc.
Is there any design you can’t wait to tattoo but haven’t had the opportunity yet? What would that be? Yes, I did many many sketches in these days of quarantine, actually I’ve a few I can’t t wait to do. But I’m sure as soon as I start [tattooing] again I’ll do those! 😊 How was your experience tattooing on a beach in Iceland? Was there any risk factors for your client? How did you come up with that idea? Well, it was a great experience. My best experience. As many people asked, no, there was no risk ‘cause I brought with me my tools, all one use only. A professional tattooer doesn’t make a mess and is able to work. My client was extremely happy about the location (and how could not be). It was just a small whale but the experience, the feeling, the connection with the earth was the biggest part of it. Loved it.

Do you have any plans to tattoo in other unusual places? Grand Canyon, Bali, Mountain, Airbaloon in Turkey. Can’t wait for going to these beautiful locations. Do you have a favorite tattoo style beside yours? I love graphic mixed with realism. And mostly the surrealism. Everything that makes me think and give my reinterpretation is something worth to see.
Is there any risk using red ink pigment on tattoos? Many of the followers have questions about it being allergic to some people, is there any brands or info you can give us about that? Well in my 6 years I’ve never had problems about it. In 2020 tattooing is a normal job with all rules connected. It’s impossible now to produce terrible quality stuff. So basically, everything’s good as long as you do it in a professional place, that’s my advice.
Do you have a favorite tattoo project? Or the craziest one you did? Yes, my favorite is “whale chips” basically a full sleeve of whales coming out from a chips box. But I have many favorites (haha).

Okay, at this point there has to be something wrong with me, right? I’ve watched this 20 times in the last half hour, I still don’t know what they are saying half the time, but it doesn’t seem to matter because i’ve been crying my eyes out laughing for the entire last half hour …
what the fuck is this from i gotta know
it’s called letterkenny and it’s about a man who gets dumped and then goes on to shirk his pacifism and reclaim and hold his title as the toughest dude in the rural town of letterkenny ontario. every episode cold opens like this in increasingly bizarre ways.
I read the bit about not being able to parse what’s being said and then I read the bit about it being set in this fuckin province, and I thought, like, what kind of accent could they possibly use that was so incomprehensible while still setting it in northern goddamn Ontario? and actually, okay, you know what, despite having lived immersed in it my entire life I’m not sure i’ve ever seen this exact accent on tv before, it is just weird to see actors using it
My cousins grew up with the guy who wrote this show and is the main actor. It’s scary accurate for hick town Ontario (it’s based on the town of Listowel) and apparently some of the characters are based so closely on real people that they’ve recognized themselves while watching.
