I started brainstorming this au about a year ago when I first read the hg books
what if katniss couldnโt stop the hunger games?
District 12 ceases to exist by the year of 76ADD. The Capitol supplies their coal by sending people out to work in whatever mines that are left. When that isnโt efficient enough, they decide that they donโt hold much need for coal anyway. New energy sources will be available. There is no need for District 12.
Destroying 13 again would be too merciful, wouldnโt it? Too risky. Theyโre kept alive, though under heavy surveillance of Capitol Peacekeepers. Theyโre assigned a new leader, one who is nothing of Alma Coin. Their children are now thrown into the Games as well.
