London, you amaze me.
At the end of April/start of May, I visited my buddy Brendan in Londontown. Meeting up with Trev, Kyle and Bren's Brother Ryan.
I began my travel like any other student would, via RyanAir. I asked the flight attendant if anyone was sitting in the exit rows, and of course she said no. Not only did I get the exit row, I got three seats to myself! WOOP I love Ryanair. I flew into London Stansted and got an "EasyBus" into the inner city. Since I was the only one in the van, I asked him if I could ride shotgun, and of course, he said yes. Things were going my way! He told me that he needed to get into the city and back to the airport and then he's done his shift so he was in a bit of a rush. That was a BIT of an understatement.
Once getting there, we settled into "Casa De Kenny" as the lads call it(Brendan's Uncles House) and decided it was a good idea to play pitch and putt... Was that ever a hoot!
Of course, we made our way into town and found a bite to eat and a pub, and made our way around London, taking in British culture and getting accustomed to the English language again, until we settled in another bar with a live band. Great First Day/Night.
The second day, we toured the Market. I love looking at all the foods/wears of different cultures so this was a must-do for me. Of course, Trev chatted up the cider maker and we HAD tried a few different varieties. After that, we began walking towards the London Bridge. We ran into some Norwegian girls and they made us take a shot with them, right there on the street! "Skol" - Cheers in Norwegian. So we obviously had to pick up the birthday girl and take a photo(see above). After this spontaneous laugh, Trev saw a Beer Bike...
He stuck his thumb out, and shockingly, they let us join! We created traffic jams all over London with what we found out later was a Bachelorette party(As you can see from the rather phallic looking object the bride-to-be is holding)
We ended up hanging out with the party all day, having all sorts of laughs and then went our separate ways to meet up with some friends the boys had met on previous travels.
That day went down as the #BestDayEver.
The following day, I actually did some sightseeing; The London Eye, MI-6, Big Ben and the River Thames. Buckingham Palace was also quite a spectacle, but the Queen wouldn't see me...
In conclusion, wherever I am, hanging out with that group of guys will always be a blast, but London just made it that much better.
P.S. The Fish and Chips, combined with a REAL English Breakfast(finally), you could say I ate well.
