May I suggest Barty who’s a year younger than Regulus but was such a little genius that he skipped a grade and now Reg must deal with suddenly not having the best grades in his year on top of having a new roommate that follows him around like a lost puppy

Regulus used to be dead afraid of thunderstorms. Back at home, he’d wake up in the middle of the night and sneak into Sirius’ room.

At Hogwarts, Regulus was in year two when the first real thunderstorm hit. He had no way of getting to the Gryffindor dorms. He spent the whole night wide awake, full of adrenaline.

Barty noticed how miserable Regulus looked the following day and connected the dots quickly. The next time a thunderstorm rolled through, Barty quietly got out of bed and crawled into Regulus’ bed.

He holds Regulus and rubs his back like Sirius used to. He does it every thunderstorm at Hogwarts the only time he held Regulus like that when a thunderstorm wasn't involved was when Regulus sobbed into his chest when Sirius left.

After Regulus died in the cave, Evan held Barty. It felt weird to be held when he was always the one holding someone. It felt weird that it was Evan instead of Regulus. It only made Barty miss Regulus even more.
