kaz hates that he can't touch inej. when he'd held her hand before she left on her ship, he'd felt sick, violently so. now that she was gone, he wasn't sure he had the strength to practice, because going without his gloves in the barrel is a sure-fire way to get beaten. he knows that. it happened the first time when he tried for imogen, and it will happen again, he's sure
he tells this relucantly to wylan during one of their 3am chats, staring out of the window to avoid looking at him. he knows wylan wouldn't poke fun or judge him, bit it still takes a lot of strength to tell him. he wants to hold her hand again, he tells wylan, when she comes home. he's just not sure he's going to be able to do it without vomiting. he nearly did the first time
wylan is quiet for a long while and kaz just keeps staring determinedly out of the window, wishing he hadn't spoken. but it had been on his mind all day and he needed to get it out of his system. besides, wylan was wylan. at this point, they told each other everything and pretended they hadn't the next morning
wylan doesn't speak. eventually, he just reached out his hand, palm up. kaz finally looks at him. wylan is staring back, eyes wide and encouraging. very very slowly, kaz slides a single glove off. it's a long, hesitant process as his struggles to control his own breathing. wylan waits. he's patient
kaz finally reaches out with his bare hand, shaking a little. it's taken five whole minutes to get to this stage. he presses his palm to wylan's. it's okay
then it's not. he retches and turns his head just in time to vomit out of the window instead of into wylan's lap. he's horrified, vulnerable. but when he turns, he finds wylan smiling softly at him. 'i won't take that personally don't worry' he says. kaz leans his head against the window. 'we can do it as many times as you need' wylan tells him softly. 'we'll get there'
it's a long, slow process. kaz tries again a week later. he trusts wylan not to take advantage of him, not to laugh or roll his eyes. wylan is patient, only ever going as far as kaz wants to go. he's encouraging, sure, but he won't push kaz beyond his bounds
when inej next shows up, kaz holds her hand. there is no retching, but there is a smiling wylan behind him
heyy, was wondering if you could do a list of abilities based off of the film As Above, So Below? Or if thats too specific, it could just be based off of the Found Footage genre

Found footage inspired ability scripting
Technology manipulation – The user possesses complete control over all technology and devices and can create and manipulate technology
Malfunction manipulation – User can alter, create, and manipulate malfunctions, the state of something that functions wrongly or does not function at all.
Function impairment – The user can cause nearly anything to stop working properly, causing glitches to happen in target
Record manipulation – User can create, shape and manipulate all forms of records of information, including CDs, documents, books, USB devices, cassettes, computers, videos, writing, etc. They can alter recordings to make it say something false rather than something true or make it gibberish and incomprehensible.
Audio/visual recording – The user is able to record and playback any sounds and/or images of their choosing.
Projection retro cognition – The user can create a projection of past events and what happened in the past.
Data manipulation – The user can create, shape and manipulate data and digital information. Through the manipulation of raw data, the user can launch attacks, erase traces of information, or generate entire databases from nothing. They can reconstruct lost files, repair damaged systems, and even accelerate their own recovery through the restructuring of their data.
Data recovery and erasure – The user can recover any kind of data in any form, from files to digital beings, effectively bringing them back from being erased easily, or the user can permanently eliminate data in all forms
Glitching – The user can glitch in the real world, which allows them to perform short-lived faults common in video games and operative systems that affect technology
Intangibility – The user can pass through physical phenomena and/or effects, usually allowing them move through solid objects and ignore most physical obstacles in their way
