If you want to I would like to hear all about your F1 dr
Oh my, yes of course I want to! You know there's nothing I love to yap about more than this DR so let's get into to it💃(When you said all about your DR, I may have taken it literally, brace yourself🫶)
Quick summary of how it starts:
Back-to-back F3 and F2 champion— my name has crossed team principals' desks too many times to count over the years with results too impressive to ignore. Yet none of them dared to be the one who brings in a woman to this sport.
Freshly-graduated from high school in 2022, I was still working on shifting my focus away from the fact that my single-seaters career had hit a dead-end and onto pursuing a more traditional future like going to college while on family vacation in Q@+ar with tickets for the GP's Free Practice and Race day.
The weekend rolls around, Friday's FP1 & FP2 are nothing out of the ordinary, we skip Saturday's Quali to have dinner with friends, and we're finally back at the hotel looking forward to Sunday's race. I have my paddock passes ready, my outfit laid out, and my mental barriers up and prepared to fend off any yearning for what my life could've been. But all of this goes flying out the window when Lat!f! is rushed out of the paddock with appendicitis that Saturday night(F1 canon event across realities), leaving his team with:
a car qualified in P16
no reserve driver in sight
only 2 points in the constructor's standings when we're halfway through the season
And ~I~ am just the prospectless driver in the right place at the right time who happened to have her helmet packed on vacation🤷♀️; you'd almost think it was scripted *evil laughter* *chokes*. Realistically, the F2 champion would be the next in line to fill-in for a missing reserve driver. So she does. And, after taking it from P16 to P5 (the highest finishing result for Williams in 3 seasons) I get asked to remain their reserve until Nicolas heals.
That is until I get dumped after 6 races of consistent top 5 finishes because they cannot afford to pay me the required minimum salary of a half-time driver😒.
So I retreat back to the garage, helping with occasional car tuning and media duties until my contract is up. Nothing to worry about though— having showcased exactly what teams needed to see to start considering me for seats, I could sit back with my manager and welcome the offers as they started rolling in. After careful assessment of the 9 contracts with JB, I decide to go into 2023 as a full-time driver for M€rc€d€s, and a computer engineering student in college at the same time.
I'm making a second post breaking down how that weekend goes in more detail, because I don't think I did it justice here. I'll link it once it's ready.
Driver Introduction:
Name, Nationality, and Family: exact same as this reality, but I'm not ready to share them on here just yet
Age: 17 years old (in 2022)
Occupation:
2022: Reserve driver for W!ll!ams Rac!ng F1 Team
2023 - foreseeable future: Full-time driver for M€rc€d€$ AMG Petr0nas F1 Team
Fall 2022 - Unknown grad date: Computer Engineering student based in my home country (same major same university as my CR, don't ask✋😔)
Racing Number: 17 (what a shocker!!). Reason: It started as a random number I picked before F3, and when it was time to choose again ahead of F1, I realized my age is playing a significant role in my public image atm, so I stuck with it. Later, it became a huge part of my brand: naming my cheetah "17" in my mother tongue, and having a super simple yet unique hand gesture that my fans use when supporting me: "☝️✌️"— number one and a peace sign, groundbreaking I know~ but that's actually how number 17 is written in my native language, so I'm patting myself on the back for coming up with it ngl💅.
Current achievements: 2020 F3 Champion, 2021 F2 Champion, countless karting championships' winner, first female driver in FP1 since Su$ie W0lff(<3), first female F2 and F3 Champion in history of the series
Broken records after I shift: Youngest driver to start an F1 race at 17 y/o, Second female driver to score points in F1 history, Youngest pole-sitter, Best Rookie Season since Ham!lton, Most pitlane-to-win conversions, Youngest F1 Champion in history of the sport, Fastest lap ever recorded(duh), First (and only) driver to break 600km/h in testing, Most Successful Driver with the Least Boring Winning Streaks (iykyk)
Manager: Jens0n Bu++on. He's been with me as manager and father figure on track since before F3 in my DR, and he was the first indirect reason I took interest in F1 in my CR. There's genuinely no one I'm more excited to meet than this guy <3
Residence: Mainly between my country (near family & uni) and Munich (near M€rc factory)
Nicknames:
"Monza"- Courtesy of Crofty after a series of memorable runs I had at the Monza circuit; not all of them were wins.
"The Arrow"- in reference to the silver arrows of course and the sick fanart that will be made during my battles with RedBu!! and Ferrar!
"The Moon of Munich"- self explanatory
Some Specifics:
The winner's standard reward in every championship (starting from regional karting up until F3) is a guaranteed fully-sponsored seat in the next series. That's how I manage to reach F2 without being a nepo baby(not that it's a bad thing; good for them) or bankrupting my parents :)
A week has 8 days in it. My life moves in week increments, and between the grand prix, school, and time spent in the air -the bare minimum btw- there's no way I'll be enjoying anything with only 7 days. The new day will likely fall between Wednesday and Thursday, but I'm still trying to figure out a name. Any suggestions?
Im0la is the spiritual home GP for Ferrar1 and the T1fosi, not Monza. I'm sorry but there's no way my fans are going head to head with the Tifos1 every year😭
Brazil is the closest thing I have to a home GP, even if it isn't my country🫶. It's due to the humongous diaspora of my people there.
My first race in Q☆tar was so sudden that the people who wanted to support me didn't have anything prepared, so they started chanting the anthems of some of our most popular childhood TV series (i swear my language has the best dubs of anime opening songs you guys aren't ready for it). This became so popular that they're still doing it years later, and all these nostalgic songs are now associated with me.
The amount of love and trust inside Merc is simply indescribable. This team is my second family and has my entire heart🤍.
Okay I've yapped enough, I still have plenty to say but that's for future posts. I know it took me ages to answer but with everything going on around us i couldn't get my thoughts together to write it, so thank u for your patience❤️. Thanks a lot for the ask oomf and I hope you enjoyed it :p <3
