And then through a vampire lens, Needles challenging Marty to a race in Part III is kind of adjacent to the Lost Boys on their motorbikes.... but I'm not sure what to do with that parallel to be honest I need someone who is a Needles expert to weigh in 👀👀

Needles and the race... Hm. Uhhhh. I think it does have the potential to be more than just that especially since Needles got shoehorned into the sequels and there's potential to take him down different paths. In the comics he bothers Marty on a few occasions in very minor ways, so you could mix those two things together. Constantly challenging Marty to be competitive with him, including racing. I see more potential for an uneasy alliance forming between the two at some point though. Marty would be hesitant while Needles would straight up despise the idea; or at least pretend he does. (there's a page in IDW #12 that i always interpreted as Needles subconsciously missing that friendliness shown by Marty when he moved into town, hence constantly gunning for his attention). Or just straight up realizing that this competitive streak between them just wastes time they could use for... Y'know, slaying vampires. Dougie's dumb, not stupid.

Perhaps a "for old times sake" thing at the end.
