After playing Deltarune chapter 5 I was thinking about the flowers' final dialogue and how it could be applied to my versions of the human souls. Some of these definitely work better than others lol but I'm pretty happy with it overall.

Fancomics are super fun, but how about tuning in for my ✨original comic✨? I'd hoped to have it up and running by now but its not quite ready yet so maybe give @ghost-camera-comic a follow to know when it updates! I'm hoping to start posting a test chapter soon. Quick synopsis: High school sophmore June Pace suddenly gains the ability to see ghosts when a vintage camera flash goes off in her face. A vengeful little spirit named Cece tasks her with solving her murder.
Wait, wait, wait … Carver … Pinkie’s big brother/knight … mind control … is Carver ok??? Did Pinkie have to fight him on his first adventure? Is Carver … yk?
Ahah um. So Carver is still alive, so that's the good news lol. The bad news is he was very mind controlled during alttp and Pinkie had to fight him off multiple times. Their relationship is somewhat strained now. Pinkie of course recognizes that none of what happened was really Carver's fault but he can't help but be scared of him still. And he really hates that so he sort of ran away like a year after the events of alttp, frustrated with how he couldn't just "get over it". He hasn't actually been back to Hyrule in four years, although he had finally decided to go back home when Leaf showed up. So he'll go home and face the music once our time travel reunion is over.
Carver, of course, feels terrible. I imagine the mind control was something sort of like what happened to Links dad in the four sword manga. Carver was probably partially in control of his actions but he thought that Pinkie was a fake who had murdered both his uncle and his little cousin, so he was pretty ruthless in hunting that "fake" down.
Probably shouldn't have given Wood that hairclip, but on the other hand Wood really appreciates it so

I'm trying to figure out nick names for the Zeldas now that they factor in to the Link's lives more after the timeskip, so here's a post where I talk about who the Zeldas are and all the relevant stuff that would help you guys help me come up with nicknames! I've been thinking that the Zeldas would probably be nicknaming themselves since Pinkie might be a bit embarrassed by the idea of giving royalty silly nicknames. I was thinking of either giving them, like, title nick names (Queen, Dreamer, Seer, that type of stuff) or just relevant nouns like the Links have. Also @ixtaek sent in a bunch of great suggestions that I'm gonna put here for your consideration (thanks Ixy you da best). Also most of the Zeldas have mini references on the Link's reference sheets that you can look at to help come up with stuff
Minish Cap Zelda: Minish Cap goes pretty much how you'd expect, although one important thing to note is that Vaati draining her light force has left some magical scars. By which I mean she's got some pretty bad chronic fatigue issues due to having all that energy drained, so sometimes she uses a wheelchair to get around. Its super frustrating for her because she's, like, the most energetic Zelda we see always hopping around and dancing. But she's still doing her best to stay happy and have fun despite it all. She enjoys exploring the minish areas while shrunken down with Rock. The minish even went so far as to pave paths to cool areas because they want Zelda to be more comfortable. In terms of nicknames, I had a hard time coming up with anything. She's just so Zelda to me, yknow? Ixy came up with some fun ones though. First was Roll, cuz combined with Rock its Rock and Roll, so cute. It also seems to reference her wheelchair a little, which is interesting. I hope its not insensitive though? Not sure. The other suggestion was Stone, also matches with Rock. The question is would she nickname herself that after having been turned to stone? Maybe she would if its like a "take that Vaati, I'm taking what you did and turning it into a silly nickname, so there". And also could reference kinstones as Ixy pointed out. The other thing is that Stone might be a bit boring of a name for her, maybe she'd do something more like a gemstone? Like maybe Ruby or Opal or even just Gem? Other vague ideas that are less matchy are some kind of flower or plant? Like Clover cuz thats on all the kinstones? I am more than open to suggestions here (that's why I'm making the post lol) so please tell me your thoughts.
Ocarina of Time Zelda: Definitely the one I have the least figured out (sorry girl 😭) The thing is this is child timeline Zelda, so she's grown into a different person in different circumstances than the ones that made Sheik. But also she's the same person at her core. So what I'm vaguely thinking is after Leaf left to try and find Navi, war broke out with the Gerudos who are a little bit mad about their leader being executed on shaky charges. So while the kingdom hasn't fallen and things aren't quite as dark as they were under Ganondorf's rule in the adult timeline, things still aren't perfect. Something about how time wants to go the way it wants to go even if you go back in time and change something big, the broad strokes of events and character arcs will still occur? So I guess imagine Adult timeline Zelda, Sheik, but slightly to the left. Hyrule hasn't fallen, but we're at war. Zelda isn't Sheik, but she does still use a stealthy alter ego sometimes. Maybe sort of like Padme in the movie where she's pretending to be her own handmaiden? I'm having a hard time nailing down a personality at this point but I think this Zelda is someone who waits and watches for the right time to strike. She learned her lesson trying to take care of things the quick way with Ganondorf, they didn't catch him in a big enough lie to justify the actions they took and now the consequences are huge. Someone who's been taught by impa to keep her composure. She strikes me as someone who considers her options before acting and takes it hard when her actions yield poor results. Someone who really misses her friend that left and didn't come back when she needed him most. Yeah I don't have quite so solid a plan for her, but hopefully that's enough to get the ideas rolling. Ixy had some fun ideas, Shadow, Shade, Bard. I think I like Shade the most, she's a shade of a person she was in another timeline (not in that she's not a whole person, but in that its slightly to the left). Also similar to the idea of The Hero's Shade, which is Leaf in twilight princess. And uh. Leaves (Leaf) on trees cast shade?
ALTTP Zelda: So the events of ALTTP play out pretty much exactly as they're shown in the game. Mostly what's important to know is that Oracle games Zelda is her little sister, not the same person. During ALTTP, Zelda is 16 while Pinkie and Oracle games Zelda are both 10 (and neither Zelda is related to Pinkie). When in the castle dungeon she was intending to call out to Pinkie's uncle (who used to be her personal night up until she was 6) not Pinkie himself. She feels pretty bad about dragging a little kid into this mess, even accidentally. Other good thing to know is ALTTP king is not a good guy (cough cough he's the reason Pinkie's dad and Carver's parents are dead they were knights and looking into his corruption cough cough) so it was sort of a relief to Zelda when Agahnim killed him, and then it was not so fun when the triforce revived him at the end of ALTTP. In the 6 years since ALTTP, the king has died again under ~mysterious circumstances~ (Zelda, with a knife, because he was threatening Impa) and now Zelda is queen. She's trying to uphold a perfect image for the court so she can use her political power to slowly root out the corruption within the castle and the nobles. She hasn't seen Pinkie in 4 years and still feels bad and worries about him. She's also gotten pretty close with Carver. After convincing him not to quit the guard after ALTTP, he's now her right hand knight and one of the few people she feels like she can trust after throwing herself into the political lions den. Personality wise, she's a stressed girl trying to keep it together behind an air of professionalism that cracks the moment she's alone with people she trusts. Nick name ideas: In terms of title nicknames I had thought maybe Queen since she's the only queen out of this particular group of Zeldas? Ixy suggested Day and Dream for the sisters which is so cute, ALTTP Zelda would be Day. Something about her bright yellow hair and the "golden power" of the triforce? Alternatively, and swapping it, Day and Night would be fun where ALTTP Zelda would be Night. I like that one cuz of associations with the knights and also it reminds me of the themes of the dark and light world in ALTTP. Idk let me know what you think of these or if you have other fun ideas.
Oracle of Ages/Season Zelda: Like I said, Oracle games Zelda is ALTTP Zelda's little sister. She was sort of the less talented, unwanted of the two. ALTTP Zelda is very talented with a lot of different magic which shows favor from the heavens. Oracle games Zelda never showed any signs of being able to do anything like that. At least, until ALTTP. While she can't do anything flashy, Oracle games Zelda is a seer who can tell what's going to happen before it happens. So during the events of ALTTP, she and Impa managed to flee before being captured because of that (she was not happy to leave her sister behind through) and they're in hiding not in Hyrule during ALTTP. After things settled down, Oracle games Zelda returned home to Hyrule castle until she saw visions of being needed in Holodrum and Labrynna. She's bubbly and smiley despite the fact that she knows The Horrors are coming and cannot be stopped. She and Pinkie get along well! Nickname ideas: For like a title nickname I was thinking something like Seer or Oracle cuz that's her more unique ability (although oot zelda is shown to do something similar through dreams). Otherwise I think Hope would work well for her since she spends a lot of cutscenes in the oracle games running around telling the citizens that they can't give up hope. Ixy's suggestion of Dream is super fun, very cute, especially since her sprite is identical to Marin's (therefore she looks a lot like her). Alternate and opposite idea of her nickname being Day cuz she's so sunny and cheery. As always let me know if you like these or have other suggestions.
TLOZ 1986 Zelda: I've done something silly and combined Loz 1986 Zelda and AoL Zelda into one person here. So she breaks the triforce of wisdom into pieces, gets kidnapped by Ganon, saved by Wood, she and Wood hang out in the castle for about a year before he gets that scar across his face and learns about the cult of Ganon trying to get his blood (and apparently some Hylians have joined, including Zelda's nursemaid, Impa's daughter! Yay trust issues!), he runs away out of Hyrule entirely in order to protect himself and Zelda, she gets cursed to sleep Forever by a sorcerer let free by her brother, four years pass, Wood hears about the sleeping princess and returns, gets the triforce of courage and wishes her back awake. She was a happy, energetic kid but since awakening from her sleep she's been a lot more bitter and stressed. Cares deeply for Wood and Impa, but has a hard time trusting people after her brother and her nursemaid betrayed her. She and ALTTP Zelda are both dealing with the pressures of ruling a kingdom and difficulty trusting people but while ALTTP Zelda hides that distrust, TLOZ 1986 Zelda doesn't. Nicknames: For a title nickname, I had thought Dreamer might be interesting because she's trapped in a dreamscape for so long, but idk. Ixy suggested Ember or Spark cuz things are bad but you'll grow back into a beautiful fire, which I think is a lot of fun. Also neat cuz when you first meet her you have to put out the fire trapping her in Ganon's castle. Also cute that its something that sort of goes along with Wood. Out of the two I would lean towards Ember cuz I just don't think Spark is quite the right vibe. I also wonder if something like Scarlet, Ruby, or even Carmine would be good cuz its like. Blood and gems and the color of her dress? idk, let me know.
Wind Waker Tetra: Now, Tetra is Tetra so she doesn't really need a nickname, but maybe we can give her a sort of nickname just for fun. Ixy sent in an idea of Lady of Silk and Steel and I am so in love with that as like a in universe thing people call Tetra when they hear stories of her. But yeah, Tetra is Tetra, she doesn't really need a nickname lol. Just to give you guys some Tetra stuff to chew on for the sake of it, her ancestors biggest concern was to wait until the time was right and reestablish Hyrule. While the memory of once being royalty has faded over time, that mission has remained. Tetra's mom impressed upon her that "someday, we will find a land and build up a kingdom of prosperity and glory. But until then you do what it takes to survive." I think that shows why she knows all the stuff she does in Wind Waker without actually knowing about being "Zelda", and its the reason why she's so deeply driven to rebuild Hyrule. Cuz at the end of Wind Waker she's the one who is talking about that to king Daphnes, not Link. And I know thats cuz he doesn't talk, but I think its significant that she cared so much about that despite not knowing king daphnes very much at all. plus that would explain why she names the place new hyrule in spirit tracks despite the whole "create a new future don't rebuild the past" message that wind waker had. Maybe she can't quite let go of what she's "supposed" to do because she can't just discard something her mom cared about so much.
I was gonna suggest “Roll” for Rock’s Zelda so they’d be “Rock and Roll” but then it was a little too on the nose haha. Stone also seems a bit mean given how she spent MC but perhaps it has good associations with kinstones?
Then for Leaf, since he’s never around her and she’s a ninja bard I was gonna say Shadow, but that’s a Sage title so I was gonna shorten it to Shade… and was once again stymied because That Also Has Lore Implications lol. So Bard feel the most fitting—Sheik is really more a bard than a fighter, and that Zelda is the one who gives you the Ocarina of Time directly.
But for Pinkie! Dream (ALttP) and Day (Oracles)! Both because Pinkie experienced a dream land, and in LA it notes that Marin (a dream girl!) looks like one of the Zeldas Pinkie knows; and day is both a measurement of time (Ages) and the poem “shall I compare thee to a summer’s day” (Season). And together the sisters are daydream.
For Wood… honestly getting an Ember or Spark vibe. The glare, the fact that things seem bad now but she’s gonna grow back into a mighty blaze! Never let them dim your sparkle girl.
And of course Tetra is Tetra but I think she gets called the Lady of Silk and Steel by people who only know of her as a legend. It’s more respectable sounding than Pirate Queen given that piracy is a really bad thing in their world, so they wouldn’t associate this alleged explorer princess with it (until they meet her haha)
YOUR BRAIN IS MASSIVE!!!!! Oh these ideas are so much fun!!!! I've been working with the assumption that the Zelda's nickname themselves since Pinkie might be a little embarrassed by the idea of giving royalty silly nicknames. My ideas for names were to either go with some kind of noun or whatever that was associated with them or do some kind of a title like "Dreamer, Queen, Seer" whatever that tells something about their abilities/experiences. I still like the title idea but I so can't come up with anything for Minish Cap Zelda or Oot Zelda so idk.

So like shades of Sheik are there. idk I think I need to spend more time exploring what she's been doing while Leaf's been away to decide a name. smth about dealing with a war with the Gerudo since they're not super happy about their leader being executed on shaky charges from children. Maybe she even gets trained in stealth by Impa still, something about how time wants to flow in a certain way even if you've changed things so when Leaf gets back he finds things are scarily similar to when he woke up as an adult in the temple of time (if probably not the same level of devastation). Shade is interesting because of the whole Hero's Shade is Leaf. so the concept of The Princess' Shade is interesting. A shade of who she once was. Also interesting because leaves (Leaf) ... provide shade... i guess??? Idk idk I'm gonna have to think about this more
Dream and Day is cute! Although Dream would probably make more sense with oracle games zelda to me since she's the one who looks a lot like Marin (Marin and Oracle games Zelda's sprites are actually identical except they added a crown onto Zelda lol???). Dream is also cool because I've been thinking of Oracle games Zelda as a seer or, yknow, oracle who can see outcomes before they happen. Maybe she uses dreams, or day dreams for that? Although I don't know how much Day would relate to ALTTP Zelda. Um. Her hair is the color of the sun...? The initial idea I had for Oracle games Zelda was Hope since she spends a lot of her cutscenes running around Labrynna/Holodrum telling the residents that they can't give up hope. Dream is interesting though, and I'm a total sucker for matching names if I can figure out how Day would work for ALTTP Zelda. Alternate idea: Day and Night? Oracle games Zelda could be Day and ALTTP Zelda could be night? cuz like. association with the knights? and alttp starts during a dark and stormy night..? is this anything?
Ember or Spark for loz 1986 Zelda is interesting. Ouagh you've got such cool ideas Tetra Lady of Steel specifically is so sick. I don't know if I'm fully seeing the silk associations aside from princesses wearing silk? It sounds cool though.
it would probably help if I gave a quick rundown of who each Zelda is and their major stuff going on too so you have more specific stuff to work with, so I'll try and do that tomorrow. You've given me a lot of really awesome ideas to turn around in my head, thanks a bunch for the ask!!
Since I briefly showed off Oracle games Zelda's design in Pinkie's reference sheet, here's this. I was trying to figure out how I wanted to draw Impa, and then Zelda showed up, and then they were so majestic in the wind that I just had to draw Pinkie being not-so-majestic lol
speaking of Zelda, I don't actually have nicknames for the Zeldas lol. I might need to make a post to have you guys help me decide cuz I've got some ideas but some I'm pretty stuck on most of them.
Aryll and Tetra! They were fun to design, always interesting to try and design someone who's name isn't Link. I think Aryll came together fairly quickly, but Tetra I really struggled to figure out for a long time. Wanted to give her a cool overcoat but I didn't end up liking it.
Reference sheets for the boys!!!! In the actual comic, most of them have shed some layers since Outset is pretty hot. But this is their more usual outfits. If the text is hard to read, the alt text on the image has it all.
First up, Ocean! Our boy has been through the ringer a little bit, such is the pirate life. It, like, physically pained me to give him the mustache-goatee combo but it must be done 🤣 now its kind of grown on me. I mostly want to point out his pirates charm earring and his cool tatoo :D (and his extremely messed up nose boy can you even breath 😭). He was fun to design, definitely one of the easier ones out of the bunch.
Rock! I don't really know if I can necessarily say that he's grown so much (still a shortie lol) but here he is, 6 years later! He certainly hasn't had it easy, but out of everyone he's the happiest to hang up the hero mantle and go back to his normal life. As such, I mostly wanted to keep his design fairly simple. He's not kitted out for battle, or carrying around a bunch of crazy items. He's just living life. He's got the physical scars of his adventure but mostly he's moved on from it.
Leaf, my sweet sweet boy who was by far the HARDEST to design and generally figure out post timeskip. Cuz hes not the bubbly child he once was, but making him too stoic and serious just rendered him unrecognizable as a character, which I didn't want. Honestly I'm still trying to figure him out, but under a thin layer of him pretending to be ~an adult~ he's still the same guy we know and love. He's been busy looking for Navi and falling into random worlds Termina style. Meaning he's probably got a mask or item from your favorite fictional property which is just so much fun crossover potential. In terms of design notes, I tried to put in a couple key blue areas to show he's still looking for Navi. He still puts braids into his hair, but stopped braiding plants into it. Lense of truth eye is bc I had a thought that maybe the hero's shade's red eye is actually the weird one because he's a skeleton ghost maybe he's not supposed to have eyes. So the one we see is a magical eye that shows up even when you're a skeleton ghost. Anyways that's cool because his hair over his face to cover it is very reminiscent of Sheik who he misses a lot and tries to emulate because they are the example of a ~functioning adult~ lol
Pinkie!!!!!!! My sweet sweet boy! Like Ocean, he acts pretty similar to how he did as a kid most of the time. The difference here is its not quite as genuine. He is happy to be adventuring and exploring and meeting new people, that's genuine, but he's running from his problems a little too hard in the process. Quick explanation of two Zeldas: Oracle Games Zelda doesn't recognize you during that game so what if she's actually Alttp Zelda's little sister whos lowkey an oracle (in the sees vision of future way). Pinkie hasn't seen Alttp Zelda in 4 years, but he's seen oracle games Zelda much more recently since she traveled out to Holodrum and Labrynna. No sibling theory, I decided, Pinkie's not related to either of them. Which makes oracle games zelda kissing him at the end of a linked game make a little more sense lol. Design notes: his embroidery designs are each inspired by the symbols of the three goddesses/oracles. His bag has Farore's symbols because she enchants it bag of holding style (and helps him get his items back aftering getting triforce teleported without them). Boots have Nayru's symbols, which is what allows him to run fast with them. Tunic has Din's symbols which grant protection. Speaking of his tunic, he never got the 3rd tunic upgrade in A Link to the Past. I did this partially because I never found it and partially because I wanted to find some ways to keep my design distinct from ones I've seen in other very cool and awesome links meet aus.
Ok so one Zelda: Whats up with that? Mostly, I just liked how it worked for the story I wanted to tell with Wood better tbh. He leaves for a long time in order to protect himself and Zelda cuz of the whole blood curse thing, but even so she still gets cursed. Running away doesn't keep the people he loves safe like he'd hoped, so now he's decided to stay. I'm starting to regret such a big deviation from the canon of the games now, but its a bit too late to go back so it is what it is. PInkie can have 2 Zeldas instead because I'm silly like that :P Fairly simple design, he likes to travel light with only the essentials.

Leaf had a very confusing Ocarina of Time experience consisting of Navi translating for him the entire time. Made it a little extra hard when she suddenly left because he had only grasped a little bit of Hylian by then. Luckily Zelda taught him while they figured out a plan to reveal Ganondorf's true motives. It really is weird to get used to him speaking in english dialogue though. Who are you and what have you done with my confused child?!
Ocean is 18, the rest of the Links are 16, Tetra is 19 and Aryll is 13.
