The textpost has long come out of my control, specially since people decided to make dubs of it. I know a while back, one specific reading of it got pretty big on Tiktok and people were using the audio for memes and the like.
I don't really care or mind it. When you post on the internet, you have to expect for your stuff to have whatever fate it ends up having. I made that post without ever knowing what would follow. But also, I'll be frank - its far from the first time something like this has happened to me haha. It has little impact on my real, tangible life, so yknow.
Looking through this blog is odd. I was a really angry and confused teen during the time I made it, and it was the middle of quarantine. I think that really came through in certain moments on this blog, in an unendearing way. Eventually I just grew distant and now im trying to use the following I gained to raise awareness for campaigns and causes I believe in.
Anyway. Sorry for the tangent. I guess this was on my mind for a while and this felt like a good excuse to get it out. Thank u anon and I hope u have a great blogging too

I have never done this before but I am clean out of options.
I am an Iranian trans immigrant in Europe. On top of having basically no contact with family back home while they are getting bombed 24/7, my family in fascist Europe is facing legal problems with immigration; My mother has been put on leave without pay since January, while also having to pay exorbitant lawyer’s fees. Last week, the bank locked up her account without notice, cutting access to the last of her savings. The stress has been making her sick and I am left financially responsible for her, myself, and my two younger siblings for the near future. I am a full time student, and again we are unable to contact any family for help as the Iranian government has cut all internet and phone access. I am an attorney who tracks regulation for a living. That the FDA is being so secretive about this is HIGHLY unusual.
As my followers may know, I usually don't recommend submitting "I don't like this" comments on proposed rules. However, in this case, I think its worth it to generate a robust public record opposing this shit. The tips on how to draft more in-depth comments are excellent, and I would encourage submitting substantive comments if you can - particularly if you are a medical expert or have some other kind of relevant expertise. However, if an "I don't like this" comment is all you're able to submit (no judgment btw, submitting a substantive comment is not easy), do it. I'm not convinced that we'll change FDA's mind here, but we can create an overwhelming public record which could be useful for any future legal challenges.
Since some of you don't seem to understand how this 'new notes' thing works, I'll break it down:
I'm the OP. I'm making this post. If you like, comment, reblog (without comment) on this post, then I'm the one who will see all those notes in my activity page.
However...
If you reblog (with comment), I will get a notification that you did that, but any likes/comments/reblogs (without comment) you get on that reblog will only be shown to you. As OP I won't see them.
If someone adds a reblog (with comment) to your reblog...as OP I won't see that. I won't see any of those notes in my activity page.
Basically, if someone with a large following makes a comment, then they will get all the notes and OP will see nothing. If OP has said something silly because they're, y'know, 21 and it happens, and then someone reblogs it onto the dash of someone with a large following who then dunks on them for fun? OP doesn't see it, doesn't get notes for it, but they're gonna get the harrassment for it in their inbox.
If I, someone with a 5 digit follower count, reblog something to correct misinformation on Ancient Egypt, then OP will never see it unless it was on the original post, but I will continue to get notes on that post even though it's not my post. If I reblog fanart, or just art in general, with a comment like 'Oh this is so lovely!' then OP will not see any of the notes from people reblogging it from me. They'll only see my reblog. So it's possible for an art post by someone else to have 200 notes for them, but 9000 for someone who reblogs it with a comment, and the OP artist will have no idea it's been seen by that many people.
It's killing blow to the community we've built here, by someone higher up who doesn't understand that being able to see all the comments and reblogs is what makes this site the place I keep coming back to.
That's what sucks.
I encourage people to go to tumblr's support page, select contact support, and then in the dropdown menu select 'Feedback' and leave polite and constructive feedback (for those of you who enjoy 'emails worded politely but are a strong 'are you an idiot?', try that way of wording it). They're more likely to listen to you if you're not an asshole about it. I've already gone and done this, and I hope others will too.

Reblogs in a chain now get their own notes
The reblog chain is one of the things that makes Tumblr unlike anywhere else. All the notes on reblogs are attributed to the original post, no matter which branch people actually liked or reblogged. We want to keep encouraging conversations, and give contributors the recognition they deserve.
Soon, you'll be able to like, reblog, or reply to any part of a reblog chain, and that note will go to that reblog's author. Each reblog will have its own counts, instead of one aggregated number from every version of the post. And yes, you’ll be able to like multiple posts in one chain.
If a reblog doesn't add anything, the love flows up to the last person in the chain who did. Your post doesn't lose notes just because people spread it quietly.
Past notes will stay on the original post — we're only changing what happens from here on out. Retroactively re-attributing all of them would be... a lot.
This is just the beginning. More changes are coming as we keep building this out – stay tuned!

so. not to doxx myself (i've talked about this here before though) but i live in Kansas. and my license was just revoked very suddenly and immediately because i'm trans and had changed my gender marker.
so now i cannot legally drive or vote until/unless i let them force me to carry around a card that misgenders me and outs me as trans, because i certainly don't look female anymore.
so hey if you have the means and want to help with any of this, please consider donating to the ACLU of Kansas because they are at least going to try to do something to push back against this, and i'm such a panicky wreck that the only thing i can do to get through my immediate gut reaction to having my license revoked tonight (i cannot stress enough that i received the letter today saying that my license is no longer valid tomorrow) is focus on the fact that there's at least one entity trying to protect me and my fellow trans kansans.

hi okay we've seen some posts about this floating around and i wanna clear up what this means before any misinfo spreads too far.
if you are in a country like the UK or australia with recent age verification laws, this changes nothing. if you are NOT in any of those countries, this will work the same way their age verification does.
on discord, this DOES NOT outright block access to the app. it will prevent you from accessing channels marked as age-restricted, and it will prevent you from viewing images that the automatic image detection software deems as "adult content". which is annoying, but that software doesn't pick up on too much. also, it doesn't stop you from sharing images with third party hosting services lol
again, you DO NOT NEED TO VERIFY TO CONTINUE USING DISCORD. DMs will work fine. most servers will work fine.
do not verify. you do not need to. don't let this become normalized. just continue using the app. find ways of noncompliance. show them how worthless this is.
