So what you really mean is I have 6 days to decide my sushi or pizza order, depending on if I'm feeling peckish or downright diabolical on the day, learn to make eccles cakes to calm myself down, make the perfect cup of cocoa in a winged mug, and get tissues.
What if there is no Book of Life?
Never has been.
Metatron just made that stuff up to scare the angels into behaving.
But can we talk about Maxine Spear for a moment? Because I did not know I needed a black Emma Thompson in my life until Maxine Spear, and I absolutely did
season 3 is my favourite murder because Donna and Cliff are the only ones in the show who killed out of love

This aged very well.
If Keegan-Michael Key is a villain or even a mildly unpleasant character, I'm going to be so upset, the man is a literal teddy bear.
This aged well.
I just realized these guys were called Stephen and Oscar because of Stephen Sondheim and Oscar Hammerstein, both leading authors of their respective eras of musical theatre. Schmicago really hit us with these little nods.
Um, It's Kind of a Lot (by Will Wood) Oliretta fanvid
Sorry, darling, please excuse my constant need to self-aggrandize, coddling my narcissism.
I left out the bridge, but the lyrics were made for Oliver.
"You're basically an insecure guy who covers it with bravado!" - Charles
season 5 is missing an Oliretta piano scene

I don't care that we haven't seen her for three seasons and Will probably found her a new owner, I choose to believe Mrs. Gambolini is still living at Oliver's place.
Final results on my s5 bingo
Green is appeared, yellow is mentioned, uncoloured is not appeared. I'm content. I made this hard on purpose, and I was not at all expecting two wins.
My personal OMitB seasons ranking list:
season 3 for theatre and Oliretta
season 5 for building antics and character development
season 2 for building antics and style
season 4 for the heart-breaking Sazz storyline
season 1 for being the OG, starting it all and getting to know the characters
What really bugs me is that the stalker plot from season 4 was never addressed in season 5. Everybody just forgot they had been watched.
Now, how am I supposed to live through the rest of the year with Cinda Canning dead?

I-just-started-s5e10-thoughts:
The fact that they started the episode recap with Sofia is feeding my illusions about being right about her being the killer.
Lestr sniffing sadly at Howard's flirting with others has me feeling sorry for the robot. This character is such a roller-coaster.
I love that this show is so good at making fun of itself and pointing out its own plot holes as jokes.
I refuse to believe Loretta won't be in the episode just because her name wasn't in the opening titles. She's going to be a surprise guest like Glen was, or something.
The episode name is very promising. Once again, this season is connecting very well with season 3 by using an unfinished episode name because we all know how the saying ends.
I just want to say I reached the theory of Camilla's grandmother's gloves hiding a missing digit before Charles did, thank you very much.
Mabel could lean into her Bloody Mabel character more often, and they'd be getting plenty of answers.
I absolutely said that Jay actually had his finger! Yes! Point for me.
I can't even begin to describe how much I enjoyed this solution of Lester and autocorrect.
So it wasn't a plot hole after all that Lester didn't text them the killer's name. Also what I'm getting from this scene is that Lester didn't kill anyone either.
Ah, the tragedy of accidentally killing a mobster. Lester is not going on record as a season's killer by the way.
I remember ranting about Keegan-Michael Key's character way before the season came out, saying this man is too much of a teddy bear to play the killer (see: much older post). I guess it's ironic. To be fair, the fact that the mayor was so frustrated with the billionaires from early on in the season was a sign towards his character being more important than initially thought on the series.
The last time Oliver didn't answer his phone, there was a Silver Alert. That mayor had better watch out because Loretta is going to find Oliver if it's the last thing she does.
I will bet anything that Miller is going to organize the rescue. As long as the building in still standing, he'll be downstairs. The trio's phones were dumped into the trash, and Miller goes through all the trash.
I just love it when the building comes together. No notes.
While Bash freaks Jay out, Jay's purled cardigan freaks me out. Why is it purled?
The Kraken being all the pigeons we've ever seen in the opening titles gives me joy.
I can finally see a way out of this. If there's incriminating evidence of camilla-white paint on Nicky's body and the secret room through which the body was dragged, that's just what the trio needs to save their building by blackmailing Camilla.
I can't believe Jay saved the building.
Respect to Charles. He has really grown this season.
It's been way too long since they've actually made a significant time jump on the show. Seasons 3 to 5 have taken place in a row.
It's so sweet that Lorraine finally got an apartment at the Arconia.
I'm sorry I ever suspected Sofia, a great gal.
Hold on, is Lestr not even going to die? Is Paul Rudd going to live through a season? I'm shook.
I have missed Cinda like crazy. Please let her be central in the next season.
Mabel is summoning murders.
What luck that the Bernadette Peters haired woman managed to make it to the murder building, otherwise the trio would not have taken her case. Does the pavement count as the building though?
Speaking of Bernadette Peters, she would be a great addition to this show, as Steve Martin's ex.
Pickle Diner really did deserve a mention.
No-no-no-no-no, no, no, no, no. No. No! That's not what I meant! I didn't want to lose Cinda, I wanted her back as a regular!
This does explain why the victim was so set on getting to the Arconia. Cinda knew her murder would get solved if she got the trio to investigate it.
I guess there's still a chance it's a twin, but they already did a season of doubles in season 4, so I don't think they're doing that again. I think it's Cinda, and I'm devastated.
The new version of Cinda's theme is a blast. This was a great twist in the soundtrack.
They really did close a season without Loretta. Huh.
All in all, it was a great season, 10 out of 10. It had everything I love about this show: great character interactions, found family moments and home appreciation, lots of laughs, a touching soundtrack, an intriguing case and a very promising cliffhanger.
I-just-started-s5e9-thoughts:
I'm so happy that I managed to avoid all spoilers, by the way. I'm still not sure who the killer is, and it's wonderful.
On a serious note, though, I haven't seen enough of Teddy Dimas to last me until next season.
I am so ready for Lestr's death scene vol. 2.
Is it Randall's finger, then? I'm getting the impression that we'll never find out the owner of the finger, it'll just be the billionaires' secret unexplained trophy.
I love it that we've made it from "You ruined our building," to "Look, my bird camera is a clue." It's great to see the Arconiacs coming together to solve their murders.
When I listed Paul Rudd's characters and theorized about who he could play next (see: old post), I did not foresee him playing a killer robot. Because that's the vibe that I'm getting from the fact that Lestr was around before Lester's death. It could also just be a clue that the robot knows more about the night of Lester's death than we thought and that the trio should question it again, but I'm open to all sorts of twists.
It's so adorable how Lestr says, "After you." Lester might not have wanted him to work for the building but he did pass on this little detail.
The sad Lestr face in the windows startled me. Or is that a moustache?
Lestr counting days until move-out feels like season 1 of Good Omens counting time until the end of the world.
Uma, homeless, still has time to be cynical in the lobby.
Oliver's reaction is me whenever AI.
While Charles thinks they need to find Randall, I think someone should find Jonathan and have him knock some sense back into Howard.
One day until move-out has me panicking. So does Oliver's unpacked apartment.
Now Lestr is roasting Oliver's work. I don't like him.
Fake picture of Cuba, but OK.
Teddy fuckin' Dimas is in the building! I know it's almost moving day, but seeing the Dip King has solved most of my problems.
You know what, I think Teddy Dimas is going to save the day. I'm saying it now, he's going to save the building. I don't know how, but I think he's the hero we all needed.
It's about time Howard was betrayed by his robot boyfriend.
It feels like Howard is about to boil a bunny. IYKYK. He could easily be Lestr's second killer.
Detective Williams is getting a lot of reunions with her arrestees this season.
Charles making a detailed and organized list of his stuff is so in character.
It only now registered with Oliver that their shared hobby is gone, too, along with their home.
Hearing the Cake track from season 3 in this scene is so heart-breaking. It's been featured before in (at least) two break-ups: Charles and Joy's last scene, and Oliver and Loretta's first love confession scene. It's possible it has been in more scenes, but I only know season 3 by heart.
The Arcatacombs strike again!
Hold on a minute, that's the same Cuba as in the Instagram post.
Called it.
I've been waiting for someone to make that joke about Oliver's wives and Teddy. They should totally give Loretta and Teddy a scene in the next episode to replay this joke.
Oliver was so down to having that wine with Teddy.
I just want to put it out there that Teddy mustn't be the next victim. Please, I will not be okay if it's him.
Teddy Dimas is the only one who has been away from this building's madness for long enough to have a sane perspective on things. Especially on Howard.
We all knew that once Teddy was there, Theo wouldn't be far behind, the sweetheart. It's time for Theo to thwart Mabel's yachting plans.
I have been waiting for this father-son duo for three whole seasons.
I just realized Theo can't understand a word Lestr is saying because the robot has no lips.
I can't remember if at some point I guessed about Lester killing Nicky or if I'm hallucinating.
I scrolled back, and yeah, I put it out there back in episode 3 that Lester could have been the killer. But as I said back then, I'm fine with it. Lester was a sweetheart and a building hero, may he rest in peace.
I just realized that Sofia saying there was no doorman on duty doesn't really tie in with Randall being there all along. On the other hand, I am getting very suspicious of Sofia lately.
Hold on, I'm rewinding, and Lester never admitted he killed anyone. There's still a chance he was a witness and nothing more. I'm just saying.
Lester saying Oliver will know what to do if he gets the shrimp implies he was trying to get the severed finger to Oliver as a clue to help him start investigating right away. I'm still doubtful if he would have done that if it would have implicated himself.
The company name on the back of Lestr is RobotLAB. This show is hilarious.
So Camilla's, "That fucking doorman," was about Lester after all?
This twist, at least, takes care of the Why Now of it all. Nicky was killed because he and Camilla were going to turn the Arconia into a casino, and there was no other way to stop them.
Oliver is looking generous but serving Dimas's dips.
Weird Miller from downstairs is redeemed by returning the murder board.
But why did they make Miller the Judas in the Last Supper?
This is a long shot, so bear with me, but the name Miller has one of its origins in German, as the name Müller, which has the same meaning as the English name. But Müll means garbage in German. So it's literally Miller the Garbage Man.
I feel like it's a bad idea to make the whole building move out on the same day. The elevators will probably break from the exertion and moving people will get in each other's way all day long.
Oh no, I was afraid of us losing Jonathan at some point, and now it's real.
For a full minute I thought Howard had called Gravey a pig, before I remembered about the actual pig.
This season has had a lot of earnest character development and moments of opening up between characters, and it's really nice to see that.
From here on out Oliver shall unironically be known as Oliver, Our Lord and Saviour.
If they do manage to save the building, the fact that Oliver has packed, let's say, half of his stuff, would be a great opportunity to start redecorating with Loretta.
Mabel's colourful cardigan is giving Lucy vibes and has reminded me that I miss Lucy.
Lestr awkwardly listening in on vulnerable human interactions is the kind of comedy I didn't know I needed.
It's nice to see the Cake theme is back for the reunion.
They sure know how to make an emotional scene on this show. The doorknob moment was so beautiful.
I have a bunch of the exact same markers that Charles uses!
To be fair, it wasn't four murders that they solved. There were also Zoe and Glen. And if you really want to be exact, Marshall was killed in the building, too.
Teddy Dimas can rock a toga.
I'm paused at the moment Howard recognized the mark on Charles's floor. I just want to put it out here that I just know that it was Lestr.
Okay, I was wrong. But! I never did like the Nonna.
It's moving day and Mabel is killing it with her suit.
So final thoughts, I'm thoroughly enjoying this season's soundtrack and leaning towards Sofia being the killer.
