I love a lot of ships but I honestly think that nothing will ever come closer to how I feel about Aziracrow. They are the blueprint. Their love is one of the purest ones I've ever seen depicted on media. They are technically opposites but they also mirror each other in so many ways. This was my first real fandom. I've enjoyed things before, but usually on my own. I've loved it here. I've found friends and learned about myself here. I found community here. I want to continue to partake in art and fics and enjoy the company of people who love the same things I do.

Painting on nylons
I'm writing a 1940s AU Good Omens fanfic, and I'm including interesting tidbits from history in it as part of my research.
For today's Strange but True we bring you painted nylons:

Due to war shortages and nylon needed for parachutes, it became fashionable to paint nylons on, and some would go as far as to draw a line down the back of the leg to look like a seam. (This was also shown in the Steve McQueen film "The Blitz")

This started life as a comment on one of those 'you should be grateful you got anything, a story belongs to the original writer and them alone' type posts, but it turns out I have things to say about ownership of stories, so here's this:
Nah, I call bullshit. When you write a story and then put it out there, it becomes other people's as well; everyone who reads/sees it has a slightly different interpretation, sees the characters differently, feels differently about it. Once you let a story OUT OF YOUR OWN HEAD and INTO EVERYONE ELSE'S, it belongs to them, too. It LIVES in their heads; that's where it exists now. They can think what they want, say what they want, even write what they want-- new and different versions or continuances of the original story. And if you write something and it gets really popular... if it gets a whole fandom built around it by those people, who write more in that storyverse and make art about it and create headcanons and yell about it to each other, then that story belongs to those people, all of them, more than it ever did you, who just wrote a thing that started it all. It's like a child; you might have given birth to the thing, but now it's alive and out in the world and you simply don't have the right or ability to control what it does, where it goes, or who and what it becomes. And sometimes there are people who love and respect the story far, far more than the original creator ever did, and the story belongs to them more than ANYBODY.
Y'all remember when NG was talking about writing S2 and he said fans kept asking him if they were going to kiss, and then he said at some point he decided "I can give you what you want, but you won't want it" and gave us the Final Fifteen?
I can give you the South Downs Cottage, but you won't want it.
Just sayin'.
The point is (…dolphins) that to get a happy ending, we could have stopped after season 1 OR the writers could have made different choices. Both were entirely possible.
