I think I'm just too much of a hippie to understand any of this label discourse that inevitably comes around in some online spaces during pride. like. I just don't care how other people chose to describe themselves. like, do those two labels seem on first thought contradictory on one person. yeah. maybe. but like. gender and sexuality are weird fluid things and language is flawed and will never be able to fully encompass the vast nuances of the human experience and anyway every person perceives words and language slightly differently. people are just out here picking the words that feel the best to them in the moment. and even that might change down the line.

I just think if the people online were to meet the person with a weird combination of labels in real life and understand their story and why they came to chose the language they use to describe themselves they wouldn't be getting up in arms about it because it was never about "invalidating" your identity but rather understanding their own

Read the post and loved it exactly for the potential of what's in the tags: uh oh now David made it funnnn and Shane, quick little bean that he is, riiiight as he's getting to the edge of the rink, about to be picked up and passed to mom, gets up and skates away to the middle of the rink and PLOMP lays down on his back, giggling and kicking his little skates. "Again, Dad (Shane does not call David daddy in front of his friends, he's not a baby!), again!!"
