Everyone thinks Steve is taking home economics as one of his electives because it's an easy grade and you're surrounded by girls. Meanwhile, Steve is sitting front row like, "Please teach me how to hem my pants. Please."
The girls in home ec realize pretty quickly that Steve is not there to flirt with them and that he already knows how to balance a checkbook.
They'll be damned if a boy - a dumb jock boy at that - is better than them at household management and have made the collective decision to best him in every lesson.
This is great.
Steve isn't the best student and he has a hard time focusing since his last head injury, but nothing sharpens the mind like competition.
Steve is competitive as hell and he's going to line the inner pockets of the apron he's sewing with a funky pattern fabric. Beat that, Valarie.
This results in fourth period home ec outclassing every other period.
Every year, the home ec teacher picks a few exceptional students to help mend and tailor costumes for the school play.
Steve's sewing is passable - he got a good grade on his apron - but not the best so he's not expecting to be selected.
But he is.
His teacher informs him that Eddie Munson is in the school play and none of the girls want to work with him. So Eddie is Steve's project.
Eddie wishes someone would've mentioned that to him. He is not prepared to see Steve Harrington in the drama room, nor is he - in any way - prepared to watch Steve to sink to his knees in front of him.
He must've died.
Steve tugs at the waistband of his pants and Eddie accepts that maybe heaven is a magical place...and then he is stabbed with a pin.
"Ow."
