im a fake fan of everything i like because i cant remember anything
I think there’s a really odd gap in general supply chain knowledge in which people scapegoat AI as this new devastating environmental concern, when internet data centers have been an environmental problem before that. The internet already had the infrastructure to support it in 2017, before GPT-1 was released. Data centers are not a new problem. The internet already had a large physical presence, but people didn’t really think much of it until there were new AI-related developments (and then attribute all data centers to being related to generative AI? Where do people think YouTube videos are stored? The literal clouds in the sky?)
A Makeship plushie has a bigger carbon footprint than a thousand LLM queries but it is seen as an acceptable environmental impact, because it has been deemed socially acceptable to contract low wage factories in the Global South to make toys to sell to customers worldwide at a 3000% markup, with all the profits staying in the Global North. Not many people think of that environmental impact
caramel frappe give me the strength to clean my room
caramel frappe PLEASE
#this art is so evocative. it feels like a goya painting
thank you so much this is the highest compliment
OP did a lovely job with this piece. The pose they picked is a difficult one to do correctly and dynamically- the doubling over is hard to illustrate without making it look weird or poorly drawn, the low seat of the “pelvis” making the figure dip down lower (to emphasize the clutching motion of the hands) is a hard perspective to imagine without a reference. I liked the way OP chose to draw the shoulders, evoking both the hunching of shoulders that would be present in a fleshier painting and drawing out the strong, dynamic curve of the body.
The blood, the desperate clutch, the crying and the pose all suggest something religious, making the post all the more impactful with its drawing- The caramel frappe does not answer the subject, just as God does not answer the subjects of paintings who depicted the same theme.
It’s also intriguing where OP chose to put details. In amostly minimalist creation, the (relatively) detailed frappe, hands, and face guides your eyes in a a dynamic way- from the frappe to the face, then follows the line of the body out to the end of the legs- making the art more interesting to the eye.
I have a theory about the colors that I’m not sure is true, but I think the subject being black and white separates it from the frappe, which is fully colored. The blood, neither frappe nor person colored, acts as a connector between the two– the only ways the two subjects can connect are through touch and sight, both of which causes the human subject pain. Then again, I may be reading into things too much idk
okay this is my favorite comment on this entire post

happy pride month witchhatters
'nüüm na waalt - it belongs to us all. 🌕 sticker design for this month on my patreon
inspired by the artemis ii mission, and pictures of mineral moons that circulated at the time (partially due to a misunderstanding that these pictures were unmanipulated or lightly-manipulated photos from the mission itself). my language group uses the phrase "'nüüm na waalt" to talk about how we all have the right to learn and speak our language - i thought about this phrase then because i think the mission, being the first of its kind that a lot of us are even alive to see, reminded many people that all beings share some kind of a relationship with the moon. i felt inspired to design my own mineral moon with raven laying claim to it (despite it being too big for his beak and wings). i likened the colours in those pictures to a representation of its spirit - the spirit of a thing that belongs to us all (especially in the context of space travel's historic entanglements with US imperialism and the colonial aesthetic aspirations of right wingers).
being disabled and lgbt is such a horrible curse because you will see the most ableist take on earth online and you're like "oh surely this is some right-wing fascist loser" and then you look at the person who said it and there's pronouns in their bio. and it's like, how did we get here? but the reality is that a lot of abled people (and often disabled people who are intolerant of different disabilities) are just not even willing to confront the idea that they are capable of punching down on other marginalized groups
like i don't know who needs to hear this but you are Not as progressive as you think you are if you're saying stuff like the R slur, "jobless behavior", making fun of nonverbal people, mocking physical differences, using psychotic as an insult, or calling people "lazy" for using disability aids. even if you're gay!
apparently youre supposed to perform. they love it when you perform. but it has to be authentic. they hate it when it's not authentic. but you have to perform.

We keep these card redraws for @poketcg-art's collab rolling. I found a cheat code that let me pixel the entire swablu line in one card for this one.
Argoss the borzoi. The top is one of the oldest photographs we have of borzoi, taken in 1886. Bottom is an artist’s depiction of the same dog.
