The normal events from the book/movie happen but what she didn't anticipate was the unnatural oxygen and constant change in gravity AND the stress of it all will make her body weaker faster. Her disease takes over quicker than it was ment to. Meaning by the time they get to erid shes in so much pain its hard to walk some days. Then with the added heavy gravity of erid it makes it that much worse.

Grace, rocky, and Adrien all try to find a solution or a cure, but the best they can do is a pain reliever. It helps on the good days, but on bad days grace has to wheel her around in a wheel chair. (Maybe carry her if this is a romance take on it.) Grace knows theres no cure, she will die soon and he will be left without human contact forever.

This causes turmoil over if he should go back to earth or just weight for his own to soon death.

Anyway thats a little idea thats been rotting in my head the past few weeks. I can see this as a romance or platonic relationship between grace the the reader. Either way its sad and I love it. I aslo love (hate it, love the angst) the sad idea that grace will also have an early death because of the chemicals hes been exposed too as well as the heavy gravity slowly crushing him.

I see everyone saying Stratt sent Ryland Grace to space cuz she saw him as less valuable since he didn't have anyone in his life. I see it was more of stratt telling him that theres no one who will suffer from his absence. Not in a "no one cares" more in a "no one else will suffer if you leave, no family to mourn him, he isn't leaving anything like that behind." Idk if this makes sense but it does to me. I dont think stratt thought he was less valuable because he didn't have family/a lover. I think she saw it as "one less person who will suffer because of my decision" . Eva Stratt they will never make me dislike you!

And I get the take people r saying that they feel represented cuz they feel like people value aroace people less because they don't want a partner. And i completely agree people do discriminate in that way to you guys and its terrible, im not saying you can't resonate with a character. Yall do whatever u want, I just wanted to share my thoughts.

Yes ik Geace loved earth and his life, I completely agree! And it breaks my heart every time I get to the part of the movie where he is forced to go. I just also completely understand Eva Stratts choices and don't think she saw Grace as expendable in that moment. She saw earth's saving grace and did what had to be done....

Uhm ok so project hail mary had consumed my brain! I watched the movie 4 times in theater, listened to the audio book, read a pdf version of the book, AND bought it the day it came out. I LOVE THIS MOVIE!!!
