Heh, judging by the aesthetics, that thing may be older than me, thoughI am not totally sure, it could vaguely be late 80's early 90's if the "cassette," part of the unit is VHS or Betamax, and not the basic audio I am assuming. The aestehtics seem more late 60's early 70's though, especially if the display is monochrome, not color. I sometimes sort of miss such aesthetics, even if I prefer the functionality of much more recent technology. Hell, it shouldn't be too hard to add most of the functionality to something like a modern tablet with an over the air HDTV tuner that also includes FM. Even easier with a laptop using an aftermarket USB addon, the removable media would be the hardest to replicate, though a DVD or BluRay drive would do the trick, they are very unlikely to be stock anymore and are more clumsy as an aftermarket, external add-on. Overall portability would suffer, though the weight and volume would go down. The TV/Electronics store I worked at in the early 90's didn't carry JVC, so it this thing was from that time frame, I didn't encounter it, and the image resolution is not quite high enough for me to see if it ran audio or video cassettes, but I am pretty sure that is at maximum a 13" screen, as small as 9", either way more luggable than portable, especially if it is color, as CRT screens are deceptively heavy.

i very much want to clarify before people get mad at me: i am not saying this is a thing that matters genuinely literally at all ever. i just am curious if most people care or are even aware of this.

I have made soup, including cheddar broccoli, though a different brand, in similar packaging, 2 years after posted expiry date with no noticeable drop in quality. The few examples that were bad, were both even older, and in damaged packaging. Don't sweat the dates, eat it when you find it, if you are in the mood.

I thin that in my lifetime, over 50 years, it has always been possible to fake that shot. It has just been easier and cheaper to do it for real for most of that time. Faking it convincingly, maybe only the past 20 to 25 years, at least at a reasonable budget. Only in maybe the past 2 or three years, has it gotten both cheap and convincing. Fuck AI for that. It brings doubt on real achievements.

Heh, at least with movies/TV, I don't recall seeing my last name attached to characters. Attached to the actors, writers, and other creatives making the media? Yeah, I see that a lot. for real though, if you don't translate it, you should transcribe the original language. if a bilingual viewer can understand what they're saying just from listening, then a bilingual viewer who relies on subtitles should also be able to understand those lines.
