Tim lets out a groan, collapsing onto his way too nice bed, with his way too nice furniture for the quality of this apartment. Burying his face into his pillow, he tries to avoid thinking about how he's been let go of yet another job. He gets it, with his attendance record being nearly as bad as Dick's, and his penchant for passing out in the middle of his shift when he's exhausted...well it was clear he was being kept on due to pity. Tim lets out a pathetic whine. Why is working so hard? Why is being employed such a pain. He knows he sounds like a rich bougie white boy, but he misses being able to use his inheritance and playing pretend at Wayne Enterprises like Bruce does over this. But magical Gotham doesn't use the same kind of currency as mundane Gotham. Not anymore. Tim lets out a moan. He used to dream of things like this. A magical underworld right under their noses. To be part of something special and unique. To be part of a pack because Tim was that kid who would bark and bite the other rich kids at daycare because being a werewolf sounded soooo cool. Well it's NOT cool! The transformation hurt a lot! His bones always ache after the full moon, and he feels bloated and crampy right before it. His skin gets itchy wearing certain materials now. He's always hungry and he stinks all the time if he isn't slathering on deodorant. He doesn't even get cool fangs or a pack out of it! Sure werewolves are more social than the average American, but that doesn't mean that Tim will mesh with them. And so far he hasn't. Tim hasn't meshed with anything in his new life. He can't hold a job, he keeps getting called speciest because he doesn't know what's considered rude, and he's living off magical welfare which is a new level of low for him. Like sure they told him it'll take a while to get on his feet. Yes they gave him a frankly robust pamphlet about the rules and who controls what parts of Gotham's magical society and how the top dog these days has moved from the Sorcerer Supreme to the Butcher Bird which sounds fucking terrifying except he's apparently just an angel with a very hard line. Which is even more terrifying because Tim was agnostic and now he has to battle with the knowledge that Abrahamic Angles are real and there's one in Gotham that has zero qualms about slaughtering an entire Fey Court because they refused to stop trafficking slaves. Tim really should have just toughed it out as a werewolf in mundane society instead. At least the rules made sense then and he didn't have to worry about any angels or try to explain to Jason that his chunk of Gotham is actually full of man eaters and fiery swords.
