One thing’s for sure, the man had vigour. He might have already known that, from the various times they’d sparred, Gai putting his nunchucks against Kotetsu’s kusarigama. But also, he might have not known that, ‘cause apart from those occasions, Gai’s impression of his … work ethic, is mostly dismal.

Well, now he knows. A man’s professional outlook doesn’t necessary translate to the bedroom — he’s almost a little sore, and he finds himself hoping that Kotetsu is in a much poorer state than him. It would only be fair. Any other outcome would be quite shameful for Konoha’s Green Beast.

Gai taps Kotetsu on the shoulder. “Hey.” Tap tap. “Hey.”

A mussed head of auburn hair is the first thing Gai sees when his eyes snap open straight out of a deep sleep, and he freezes. It takes him a minute to get his bearings: he’s in his apartment, in his bed, there’s someone else in the bed with him. And. Gai blinks hard. There’s only one redhead he’s close enough to that he’d end up in bed with. And it’s not something Gai really has to question, because unlike the man fast asleep beside him, Gai wasn’t tipsy off cheap spirits last night, and … remembers all of it fairly clearly.

Sasori’s hand, fisted in his hair without restraint, the other pressing down on Gai’s lower back.

Gai, twisting around to grin shamelessly at Sasori when his thrusts turned messy and rough.

The way Sasori had growled at him, and shoved his head down into the mattress.

It isn’t a terrible turn of events, but it’s definitely still a surprise. And if Gai knows Sasori as well as he thinks he does, he’s pretty sure he’s going to start hissing the moment he wakes up and finds himself in bed with Gai.

Hmm. They’re in his apartment.

Gai starts when he wakes to Bijin already staring at him, her head resting on a palm, elbow propped up on the bed.

they’re in mandarin as a nod to lee and tenten’s chinese heritage.

they become a little bit of a mantra that they say to each other. they say it as a joke sometimes. but it’s also something they say before they split up in the field, a promise. a reassurance after a tough situation, a warbled murmur when they’re battered and bruised but together. a call to endure when they’re D.I.T.D. (down in the dumps) (barely alive in the hospital). etc etc you get the idea.
