I was talking with my niece today, and she said this

Seeing your parents getting older is so hard. You notice it in the small things.

They might get more rigid with their rules. They might stop understanding jokes as. They even might stop liking newer things.

And that’s especially hard because when your parents start getting old typically you are in your teens. And it’s the first time you’ve ever wanted to break their rules. Try new things or make jokes.
