RP Request: Hurt Comfort, Found Family and Other Fun Stuff (OC RP)
Hi! I'm a long-time roleplayer (38, they/them) looking for a long-term 1x1 writing partnership. DM me if you're interested in the plot I talk about below, or if you have other ideas we might both like. Thanks!
I like hurt comfort/whump (the non-BDSM or pet-play kind).
I like writing asexual relationships, especially found family and queerplatonic relationships. I'm fine with romance if it happens, but no sex.
I like stories that can switch between tones, going from dark to sweet to absurd, and still work.
I'm kind of Go Big or Go Home about this stuff - I like an intense emotional feel to the plot, along with world-building and ensemble casts.
I do semi-literate roleplay - no pressure on length as long as you give me something to work with. I'm happy to do paragraph or script.
I'm open as far as platforms. I do have a Discord.
I'm really only looking for original story roleplay at this point, but to give you a sense of what you can expect, some of my favorites over the years have been Revolutionary Girl Utena, Game of Thrones, The Owl House, Babylon 5, and Homestuck.
Here's a plot I've been thinking about a lot, and I'd love to roleplay it with someone if interested, though if we're into the same sorts of things, I'm definitely open to other plots:
The station at the edge of human-controlled space has a problem. It looks like corruption, but it's something much, much worse (to be decided by both of us). My character, a determined, occasionally hot-headed investigator (NB), is sent from Earth to look into it. Immediately upon arriving at the station, they intervene to stop your character, a shy, anxious, overwhelmed crew member (M), from being harmed in what seems like an unrelated incident. However, it turns out that the crew member is being forced to work for the villain(s), and even as he becomes close with the investigator, he tries to sabotage what they're doing - to protect himself and them as well. Eventually it comes to a head, but if this doesn't break their connection entirely, they may find a way to get him out and stop the conspiracy altogether.
I see this mostly as being a slow-burn that leans toward a queerplatonic/found family vibe (though of course characters are going to do what they're going to do). I'm also hoping we can build out the world and cast together, as well as collaborate on major plot points. I'm looking at exploring themes of protection, loyalty, complicity, self-sacrifice, and moral injury, but am excited to see what you bring to it as well.
Thanks for reading, and I hope to hear from you soon!
