Because I am. July 17 — just weeks away.  

They say we’re soft-hearted, emotionally deep, loyal to the end, and quietly carry pain no one sees.  

I wonder if that’s true… or if I just became like this because I had no choice.

My name is Aboud.  

I’m 23 years old, from Gaza.  

This week, we were forced to flee again.  

My father is still sick. We have no food security, no medicine, and no way to rest.  

My old campaign was shut down, and my new one barely gets seen. I haven’t received a single donation in 3–4 days. Most of my accounts keep getting deleted.

I’m not asking for much — just to be seen, just to be shared, just to survive.

A missile fell on their home.

In that moment, Misk lost her entire world.

Her mother, Lina.

Her father, Mohammed.

Her baby sister, Masa.

Her brother, Abdullah.

All gone.

Only Misk survived.

She was found under the rubble… her tiny body bruised and bleeding. Her face, once full of light, now marked with pain. She was shaking. Whispering. Looking around for someone to answer her cries.

No one came.

Her father and brother were pulled from under the debris, lifeless and cold.

But her mother and baby sister are still there, still buried under the ruins.

We can’t reach them. The area is too dangerous. The equipment doesn’t exist. We wait… and they remain trapped in silence.

Since then, Misk has been under treatment. Her hands and feet are swollen with deep bruises. Her face is no longer the same.

But the wounds on her body are not the ones that hurt the most.

Misk is only four.

She doesn’t understand why she wakes up in a tent instead of her warm bed.

She doesn’t understand why her mother won’t come hold her hand.

She calls for her. Over and over again.

And when we tell her she’s not coming back, she goes quiet… and cries.

Now, she lives with her grandfather.

There is no one else left.

We try to hug her, to distract her, to make her smile… but how can we bring light back into a heart that has seen so much darkness?

Misk should be in her kindergarten right now, playing, drawing, singing with friends.

Instead, she spends her days staring at the sky, waiting for the next sound. The next fear. The next goodbye.

We can’t bring her family back.

But maybe, we can give her a chance at safety.

The humanitarian situation is becoming increasingly difficult amid a severe shortage of essential supplies.

Famine has become a clear phenomenon in the Gaza Strip, and the situation has become extremely catastrophic.

There is no food, no water, no medicine, and no fuel, which is negatively impacting the lives of Palestinians.

We may witness more deaths in the coming days due to the shortage of basic necessities.
