very quick Zutara college au (?) sketch (based on a scene from the tv show āOnce and Againā) to get back into digital art!
ps: if i ignore the background, it doesnāt exist
my ipad died but somehow some of my drawings from 2021 survived, just with way less definition ://
anyway, here is Zutara as Alina and the Darkling from Shadow and Bone!

Thatās Louis Rossman, a repair technician and YouTuber, who went viral recently for railing against Apple. Apple purposely charges a lot for repairs and you either have to pay up or buy a new device. Thatās because Apple withholds necessary tools and information from outside repair shops. And to think, we were just so close to change.

Reblog if you:
Have an iPhone and are in need of repairs
Have a friend with that problem
Hate Apple and are more than happy to spite them in some way
No one will know which is it
This guy inspired me to repair my own macbook. First of all, you should know that I am not⦠like, I have to look up HOW to look up what my computer specifications are. Tech, that ware either soft or hard, is not a subject in which I experience comfort or competence. But my puppy peed on my keyboard, and I asked the apple store, or the fucking mac cafe, or the godsdamn Computer House Chill Zone or whatever cute ass name they have for their bullshit store, and they said it would be TWELVE HUNDRED DOLLARS TO REPLACE MY KEYBOARD. Iām not even exaggerating.
So I asked the internet, well how hard IS it to repair? And I saw this guyās video, and while I am no techie, I AM fueled by spite, so I was allĀ āoh, they do that shit on purpose specifically so they can charge me $1200 bucks or make me buy a new computer hunh? FUCK THEMā and I bought all the tools I needed for about $25 and I bought all the parts I needed for about another $25 and I watched a few tutorial videos, and I replaced my own keyboard.
So, once you are doing the actual deed, it becomes pretty obvious that they are finding creative ways to make this much harder than it has to be on purpose. On thing that stood out to me is, instead of all the tiny screws being the same size, there are about two dozen very slightly different sizes. They could easily be all the same size, or like, two sizes at most, but no.
These mother fuckers will take a panel that screws into place and theyāll use a different size screw for each corner. They are so close that you almost cannot tell them apart visually, but they each will only screw into the matching corner. Like, itās a pretty clear āfuck youā to anyone trying to do repairs.
anyway, this guy is also fueled by spite, and doing holy work, and I have mad respect
This is awesome. Man is doing good ass deeds 24/7 because heās giving people control.
How dare you not leave a link to his channel, this guy is the savior of the modern world.
I literally have no explanation for this

Zutara Week 2021 Day 7: Stories
In my mind there is a very clear connection between the prompt āstoriesā and my attempt at rewriting part of the AtLA ending, however Iām having a terrible time verbalizing it (sort of āstories belong to their readersā ala John Green vibes?). Instead you get this snippet from a meta I wrote months ago (which I guess Iāll need to post now to have this make sense):
So if someone asks me if a romantic Zutara relationship is ācanonā within the context of AtLA, then no it isnāt. But for me, thatās literally the only place where Zuko and Katara arenāt deeply in love and living their best lives together. AtLA is a work of fiction, and fictional characters are just as fictional when a fan thinks about them as when the characterās creator thinks about them. A story is only as real as you make it. And for me? Zutara is real.
Sorry, no kiss, but as Iāve said a few scattered times - my preferred show ending would have had no canon romances except Sukka (although I certainly wouldnāt have been upset if there had been a Zutara endingā¦).Ā

A lot of people ask me what my biggest fear is, or what scares me most. And I know they expect an answer like heights, or closed spaces, or people dressed like animals, but how do I tell them that when I was 17 I took a class called Relationships For Life and I learned that most people fall out of love for the same reasons they fell in it. That their loverās once endearing stubbornness has now become refusal to compromise and their one track mind is now immaturity and their bad habits that you once adored is now money down the drain. Their spontaneity becomes reckless and irresponsible and their feet up on your dash is no longer sexy, just another distraction in your busy life. Nothing saddens and scares me like the thought that I can become ugly to someone who once thought all the stars were in my eyes.
this fucks me up every single time
I never expected this to be my most popular poem out of the hundreds Iāve written. I was extremely bitter and sad when I wrote this and I left out the most beautiful part of that class.
After my teacher introduced us to this theory, she asked us, āis love a feeling? Or is it a choice?ā We were all a bunch of teenagers. Naturally we said it was a feeling. She said that if we clung to that belief, weād never have a lasting relationship of any sort.
She made us interview a dozen adults who were or had been married and we asked them about their marriages and why it lasted or why it failed. At the end, I asked every single person if love was an emotion or a choice.
Everybody said that it was a choice. It was a conscious commitment. It was something you choose to make work every day with a person who has chosen the same thing. They all said that at one point in their marriage, the āfeeling of loveā had vanished or faded and they werenāt happy. They said feelings are always changing and you cannot build something that will last on such a shaky foundation.
The married ones said that when things were bad, they chose to open the communication, chose to identify what broke and how to fix it, and chose to recreate something worth falling in love with.
The divorced ones said they chose to walk away.
Ever since that class, since that project, I never looked at relationships the same way. I understood why arranged marriages were successful. I discovered the difference in feelings and commitments. Iāve never gone for the person who makes my heart flutter or my head spin. Iāve chosen the people who were committed to choosing me, dedicated to finding something to adore even on the ugliest days.
I no longer fear the day someone who swore I was their universe can no longer see the stars in my eyes as long as they still choose to look until they find them again.
This is so fucking important and I think itās something I needed right now
SourceĀ
These dudes are fucking legit. Ā They donāt just show up one day in court, either, they actually make friends with the kids and let them know they have a support system and that there are people in the world who care about them and will always have their back. Ā And less important, but also cool, is that the few times a couple of them have come into my cafe, theyāve been super friendly and polite and when I told one of the guys that I noticed his Bikers Against Child Abuse patch and wanted him to know how awesome I thought he was because of it, he got kind of shy and blushed and said, āThe kids are the awesome ones, we just let them know theyāre allowed to be brave.ā
The source is long, but so, so good. These men and women are available in 36 states, 24 hours a day to stand guard at home, in court, at school, even if the child has a nightmare. Many of them are survivors of childhood abuse as well, and know what itās like to feel scared and alone.
In court that day, the judge asked the boy, āAre you afraid?ā No, the boy said.
Pipes says the judge seemed surprised, and asked, āWhy not?ā
The boy glanced at Pipes and the other bikers sitting in the front row, two more standing on each side of the courtroom door, and told the judge, āBecause my friends are scarier than he is.ā
Actual tears.. hnngh
Show me more of people like this, world. I give up on humans too easily.
where do i sign up for this,i want to be in this gang
This is fucking amazing. It may be out of character for me to say this but rock on
Bikers Against Child Abuse was founded in 1995 by a Native American child psychologist whose ride name is Chief, when he came across a young boy who had been subjected to extreme abuse and was too afraid to leave his house. He called the boy to reach out to him, but the only thing that seemed to interest the child was Chiefās bike. Soon, some 20 bikers went to the boyās neighborhood and were able to draw him out of his house for the first time in weeks.
Chiefās thesis was that a child who has been abused by an adult can benefit psychologically from the presence of even more intimidating adults that they know are on their side. āWhen we tell a child they donāt have to be afraid, they believe us,ā Arizona biker Pipes told azcentral.com. āWhen we tell them we will be there for them, they believe us.ā ( Article)
More about BACA, from their site
My parents are a part of this organization and they are metal af
They go on runs to protect the child if they feel even the slightest threatened no matter where. If the child needs them to go on vacation with them, they do. Bikers come from across the nation to watch over and take shifts for these kids. And the best part is once youāre adopted into this family as a BACA kid, youāre always one. Even when youāre 40 and the perp gets released from jail, theyāll come meet with you and find your best options for avoiding the person and maintaining the life youāve built for yourself. Once a BACA child, always a BACA child. In Florida, thereās 100% rate for identifying the perp based on the childās testimony. Why? Because BACA stands with the child and supports the child so they feel comfortable enough to point out their attacker.
Whatās better than a badass biker gang being on your side???
NATIVE AMERICAN CHILD PSYCHOLOGIST WHO IS A BIKER AND NAMED HIMSELF CHIEF HELL YES IāM HERE FOR THAT AND BIKERS BEING BAD ASS TO PROTECT KIDS. HELL YEAH.
itās back! I will always reblog BACA
Damn good people.
I know they wouldnāt consider themselves such, but these people are freaking heroes and the world is a better place because of them.Ā
Hey folks, it talks about this in the article but its not mentioned in this post, BACA is a 501 Ā© (3) charity that depends in part on donations to help pay for stuff like gas for their bikes. If you want to help, consider donating.Ā
@copperbadge You like posting about heroes, Sam. Seems like this would be up your alley.
I love these folks! Iāve reblogged them before but itās wonderful to see the donation information has been added.Ā
Always reblog. Keep doing what youāre doing y'all.
Guys? This post changed my life. I saw this post. Forever ago. And thought it was only in america⦠and wished desperately that they could help me. But then I saw it again, during a bad episode, and checked their site. They arenāt just in the USA
Theyāre in Canada as well and probably other countries. I met and talked with a native guy who runs the place near me. His name is Shaman. I got in, and Iām considered a BACA child now. Despite being 17, turning 18 when I talked to them. They spent time with me when my abuser was over, they gave me therapy resources. They give you something called aĀ ālevel 1ā² where they go to your house with as many bikers as they can, i shit you not a solid 20-40 bikers came from even out of province, and met me. I got to choose my biker name and I got a vest with patches on it and my name on it. They all hugged a Teddybear before giving it to me, and told me if I ever felt the BACA bear was running out of love, to give them a call and theyād refill it for me, and then I got a ride on one of their bikes. Just a day or so ago I went to an annual party with them and they we ate food one of them cooked and had a lot of laughs.Ā
Iāve never felt as loved as I did being a part of the BACA family. They also gave me dog tags with the names, and phone numbers of my 2 workers.Ā So I can call them whenever I feel scared.Ā
BACA is an absolutely wonderful group that will do everything in itās power to help any child whos been abused.Ā
And it doesnāt end when youāre 18 either. As long as you get in contact/get your level 1 before youāre 18? youāre ALWAYS a BACA kid. Iām 18 now and they still invite me to parties, ask me if Iām okay, and are there for me. Theyāre still trying to find me resources for therapy.Ā
BACA has changed my fucking life.Ā
I hope you all can read this, and reblog it knowing from someone who fucking been with them, that they are absolutely amazing.Ā
If I ever donāt reblog this, itās because I am physically being restrained against my will.
Supporting your local heroās.
FUCKEN AMAZING what these Bikers do!!!! This is why I donāt give up on humanityā¦

Little animatic of this post by @pipiezexal bc i can't stop thinking about it
Zutarians act like Katara's romance with Aang is to the detriment of her character but somehow one with Zuko wouldn't just put her in nurturing position for an older man. I am not for Kataang but I don't think any of the show's characters would NOT put Katara in the position of a nurturer and giver. She gives too much as it is. Except perhaps Toph but Toph is twelve, confused and has parental issues. What I'm trying to ask is what does Katara gain from Zutara except acceptance.
What Katara Would Gain from Zutara
[Edited to add āBato of the Water Tribeā! Thanks, @adifferentcupofzutara!]
Katara would gain a partner who would help her with household duties without being asked:
Rather than someone who leaves the chores to her while he shows off for his fangirls.
Katara: Watching you show off for a bunch of girls does not sound like fun.Aαng: Well, neither does carrying your basket.
She would gain a partner who shares parental responsibilities ā¦
Katara: Aαng, donāt walk away from this.
Zuko: Let him go. He needs time to sort it out by himself.
And acts like a father:
Zuko: Keep in mind, these are dual swords. Two halves of a single weapon. Donāt think of them as separate, because theyāre not. Theyāre just two different parts of the same whole.
Rather than someone who IS a parental responsibility ā¦
And acts like her son.
Katara: What do you think, Aαng? Do I act like a mom?Aαng:Ā Well, Iā¦Katara: Stop rubbing your eye and speak clearly when you talk!
Katara: My goodness! That doesnāt sound like our Kuzon.
Katara: Iāve been training Aαng for a while now. He really responds well to a positive teaching experience. Lots of encouragement and praise. Kind words. If heās doing something wrong, maybe a gentle nudge in the right direction.
She would gain a partner who respects her personal boundaries:Ā
Katara: What are you doing?!Zuko: Keeping rocks from crushing you.Katara: Okay, Iām not crushed. You can get off me now.
ZukoĀ [retracts his arm so Katara can move away from him]: Iāll take that as a thank you.
Ā Rather than someone who transgresses them.
Katara: Aαng, Iām sorry but right now, Ā Iām just a little confused.
Katara: I just said that I was confused!
Someone who sees her as an ally:
Zuko:Ā I can handle Azula. Iroh: Not alone.Ā Youāll need help.Zuko: Youāre right. Katara,Ā how would you like to help me put Azula in her place?
And not a possession.
Actor Zuko:Ā Wait. Ā I thought you were the Avatarās girl.
Aαng: [nods]Ā
Someone who waits for the right time to talk:
Katara: You look terrible.Ā Zuko: I waited out here all night.
Rather than pushing her:
Katara: Because weāre in the middle of a war andĀ we have other things to worry about. This isnāt the right time. Aαng: Ā Well, when IS the right time?
Someone who understands how much she needs her family to be there ā¦
Katara: Dad.Hakoda:Ā Hi, Katara.Katara: How are you here? What is going on?
And puts their needs over his:
Sokka: No, Iām staying.Ā You guys go. Youāve been here long enough. Suki: Iām not leaving without you, Sokka. Zuko: Iām staying too.
Rather than someone who disappears when she depends on him ā¦
Katara: He left. Hakoda: What?Katara: Aαng. He just took his glider and disappeared. He has this ridiculous notion that he has to save the world alone. That itās all his responsibility. Hakoda: Maybe thatās his way of being brave.Katara: Itās not brave. Itās selfish and stupid. We could be helping him. And I know the world needs him, but doesnāt he know how much that we need him too? How could he just leave us behind?
And puts his needs over theirs.
Sokka: This is the map to our father! You had it the whole time!? How could you?
She would not only gain a partner who, unlike her canon love interest, sympathizes with the loss of her mother:
Katara: Well, I just want you to be prepared for what you might see. The Fire Nation is ruthless. They killed my mother and they could have done the same to your people.Aαng: Ā Just because no one has seen an airbender doesnāt mean the Fire Nation killed them all. They probably escaped.Katara: I know itās hard to accept.Aαng: You donāt understand, Katara. The only way to get to an airbender temple is on a flying bison, and I doubt the Fire Nation has any flying bison. Right, Appa?
Katara: I donāt?! How dare you! You have no idea what this war has put me through. Me personally. The Fire Nation took my mother away from me.
Zuko: Iām sorry. Thatās something we have in common.
Katara: But, we were too late. When we got there, the man was gone. Ā And so was she. Zuko: Your Mother was a brave woman.
Katara: Ā I know.
But who trusts her to deal with anger and pain in HER way ā¦
Rather than pestering her to do things HIS way.
Aαng: Katara, you sound like Jet.
Aαng: Katara, you do have a choice. Forgiveness.Ā
Aαng: Itās okay, because I forgive you. Ā That give you any ideas?
Aαng:Let your anger out and then let it go. Forgive him.
Aαng:Ā You did the right thing.Ā Forgiveness is the first step you have to take to begin healing.Ā
Ironically, a partner who understands that some things are more important than romance!
Aαng: Katara is in danger! I have to go.
Guru Pathik: No, Aαng! By choosing attachment, you have locked the chakra! If you leave now you wonāt be able to go into the Avatar State at all!
Zuko:Ā Stop! This isnāt about you. This is about the Fire Nation.
But who would still die for her in a heartbeat ā¦
Rather than risk her life (and everyoneās) to retain his moral purity.
Most of all, she would gain someone who sees her for who she is:
Rather than who he wants her to be.
And who doesnāt try to change her to make her better for him.

Avatar but its a summer anime in the 90s and they still have powers and stuff but also live like normal highschoolers
some messy sketches bc iām a sucker for katara initiating their first kiss
