Like I think part of why bg3 is so good is that you have both options!! As someone who plays Skyrim and avoids the dragonborn stuff as much as possible I’m so happy I have a choice where I can truly just fuck around and do what I want! Sure you don’t get as much/any unique scenes to your character but i don’t mind. It just means I can play origins (including durge) for extra content!

Like durge is great but it’s a set backstory and character. Like even the evil path as durge you are evil in a specific way. If you are evil you’re mostly evil in the way Baal tells you to be. Maybe you wanna be evil but not a murder hobo! Having the options for tav and origins just, makes it a lot bigger.

evil Tavs exist, no reason Tav can't be a fresh lich or have Vecna's eye or be a devout Cyricist. i've read and/or played all of these and they're fantastic.

She is willing to work with men in leadership positions even post-mind control and she will actually compliment and admire their tyrannical prowess

Ulder Ravengard thinks in a similar way, and we have to imagine that Wyll learned much of this thought patterning from him. What’s so interesting about Wyll’s story in particular is that he must bear the repercussions of his father’s moral categorizing. When Wyll takes Mizora’s deal, he gets shunted straight into his father’s Bad Category. In Wyll’s own words, “He thought I was a fool or a traitor, and Duke Ravengard suffers neither.” Notice it’s “Duke Ravengard” and not “My Father”, but I can’t explore that rn.

Though Wyll gets redeemed in his father’s eyes depending on the players choices, we fall short of seeing Ulder acknowledge that his way of looking at the world is fundamentally cruel. Instead of fully confronting that the world is complex, Ulder simply shifts Wyll back into the Good Category. Wyll is reframed as Good, and thus worthy of love again. Nothing has really ontologically changed for Ulder Ravengard. Love from Ulder Ravengard was conditional and remains conditional.

Wyll: #1 horse girl. Chill vibes. Experienced equestrian. Had a horse as a kid. Rides extremely properly - Obviously a noble. Knows all the horse breeds and their characteristics. Names his horse something dramatic like "Bay of Frontiers."

Lae'zel: Only wants to gallop full speed at all times and jump over all obstacles and gaps. Bemoans the horse cannot fly like red dragon.

Shadowheart: Adores horse but has no idea how to ride and is a little afraid of falling off. Braids horses' hair.

Karlach: Enjoys horse from a safe distance. Is no longer allowed near hay after 'the incident.' Doodles horses in the dirt.

Gale: Can conjure an unridable horse illusion. Will ride a horse but will also complain about his back.

Halsin: Does not ride horses but walks along side them, deeply engrossed in conversation together. The horses have $#!/ to say about Astarion.

Minthara: Horse wears full plate armor. Calls horse 'noble beast.' STOMPING SMITE!

Jahera: Complains about the mess all these horses make around camp. Knows all of their names, prefernces, and quirks in great detail. Gets exasperated when anyone gets any of it wrong.

I'm convinced the only reason we can't access the Upper City in-game is because it was never finished, not because of the Brain.

I also have a headcanon that finding Bhaal's Temple was a lot harder than simply falling into the nearest sewer grate, so Gortash and Ro ended up pooling their resources and efforts. From time to time, they would meet to discuss new leads and exchange information to make the search more effective.

Considering that doppelgangers were a 24/7 threat to Gortash, it was very much in his interest not to sit around and do nothing.
