Ripped away from the only home he knew, Ink, now renamed Kaleidoscope, stumbles into a flawed multiverse that now expects him to help solve all its problems.

It was hard to believe months ago he was just a simple alchemist helping his brothers make potions and hoping to one day become a popular artist....

Now soulless, alone, and branded as the multiverse's protector, he meets friends and foes alike, forms connections and experiences losses while at the same time trying to figure out his purpose and himself. Not yet realizing this multiverse is in danger from more hidden enemies than he'd like to believe.

An exploration turns into a hunt for missing pieces of himself, only to lose more than his soul along the way in his one-sided drive to become whole again. He can't face his brothers otherwise.

He learns, though, that everything is not so black and white, and despite his attempts to save it, he may in fact be the cause of this multiverse's downfall, unless he makes the sacrifice he knows must be made, whatever the cost.

He is... a Ink after all.

Here's some things I put together about Yokaiverse. Summary:

Yokaiverse, a condensed multiverse that takes place within one huge universe where monsters can also take on yokai traits. They in fact take on a yokai’s spirit at birth, transforming them into full or half yokai’s. In this universe names have duel meaning. To say ones true name is to say that you trust them enough with your soul. Once upon a time there was a huge war, monsters and humans fought a never ending battle and yokai were created by combining spirits of nature and the world around them within monster bodies. These Yokai monsters are considered myths or evil beings and driven away to hide within the very dangerous mountains of the north that humans and normal monsters dare not tread.

Chaos reigned until a certain powerful Kitsune took hold of the reigns of the Yokai, forming a council and creating an uneasy alliance between the Yokai. They began to form their own communities and began to live much like regular monsters and humans do. 

However, there were a few.. Especially sensitive and powerful yokai that decided to remain living in solitude. Error (Fukaku) was one of those. Until one day he came across a kid Kitsune, hurt and abandoned. He named him Niji (Ink).  Characters: (I do not have full bios for them all)

Niji (Ink) is a Kitsune, his tails are the colors of the rainbow, a unique type of kitsune that is sought after.  He is a trickster by nature and will often try to deceive using illusion magic with his vials. He also drinks from them to gain sustenance as he is unable to digest normal food. He needs food with magic in it.

Fukaku (Error) is what’s known as akuma Yokai, having some of the most destructive powers known to yokai. He lost his sight years ago and has created dolls to use as his eyes, moving them with his strings. He is a grumpy hermit that lives high up in a bleak mountain range, taking care of Niji until the time comes to let the other go. His strings have the ability to drain the life of anything they touch.  Dressed in fancy kimonos he rarely leaves his home, trains Niji to fight  

Yoru (Nightmare) is a unique yokai, known as a ryujin now, a dragon like yokai tainted by the darkness of the deep seas. He was once another kind of spirit but was forced to undergo a change against his will. His abilities and magic tripled due to this. But he can only feed off darkness now. Does not appear in the daylight very often. Has two different monster forms as well as yokai form. One is more dragon like and the other is similar to his original spirit form which was similar to a octopus like spirit. He doesn’t talk much about what happened to him in the past.  

Yume (Dream) is a yokai based around a akurojin-no-hi, a ghostly fire that appears to help those and lead them to a safe place.He travels through the mountains trying to locate his brother. Not yet knowing how much he’s changed. He is known as one of the most powerful Yokai considering his abilities are associated with fire and healing. He can heal himself from most wounds and is known as a demi Yokai.  

Sora (Blue) is a yokai based around a  gashadokuro, a large skeleton yokai known to roam of the forests. He can shift into a larger skeleton creature, his bones the color of blue and can influence the winds around him. He doesn’t like using that form often though, wanting to more rely on his normal monster form. He wears armor that can shapeshift with him and has a sword. He doesn’t know his origins, like most Yokai. Yokai are either often killed or abandoned once their other selves are revealed.   

Satsujin (Killer) is a Cat spirit yokai, he spends a lot of time in a family of wild cats but joined up with Yoru (Nightmare) a while back seeking something. He does have a tail most of the time even in his monster skeleton form. He does do cat like things like use his hands to clean his face and chase his tail. He’s pretty silly and will sometimes lie in Yoru’s lap to snooze. He also a jokster and he along with Cross will play pranks on others. Dust chased him around once in retaliation.    

Kona (Dust) is a yokai based around a Mujina, a shapeshifting badger spirit. Moody and has a wild temper. He and Kurosu (Cross) often will hang out together to vent out their frustrations to the world. He doesn’t know his origins and resents being a Yokai. Joined Yoru’s group to fight.  

Hora (Horror) is a yokai based around a Koromodako, a size-shifting octopus-like yōkai who likes to be bigger than all the others. He often doesn’t stray too far from water. He likes to cook and is the chef of the group, he doesn’t like showing his yokai form often but he feels comfortable around Yoru the most with it since his form and Yoru’s are similar. 

Kurosu (Cross) is a Nue, a chimera and experiment by a mortal messing with monstera and yokai genetics. He escaped his capture and wandered the mountains, hiding away and trying to find a place to call home.
