askdofwjiwioijfow i’m not really much of a writer but here goes!
-Marina fell in love first. Even though we’ll be learning how Off the Hook was formed , i believe Pearl really helped Marina become her true self. Marina really admired Pearl from the start! Pearl always look so cool when she settles down and get busy working on their music.
Eventually she started noticing her heart racing whenever they sat a bit to close when exchanging lyric notes. Just a brush of a hand had Marina thinking ! Ah Senpai’s Hand is so small and cute~!
Marina is gay as hell. like hello the Squid Sister’s were her first inkling crush oh god those squids sure are beautiful oh gosh i’m gonna buy all their merch ( she has a huge collection if not the biggest in both Octo valley and Inkopolis) And now she also has the biggest Off the Hook collection.
-for Pearl it took a bit to admit to herself that her feelings were romantic.mostly bc she’s not really used to true genuine relationships (romantic and friendship wise) all her life she had a ton of friends who wanted to be close to her bc she was rich. Then when she started to take an interest entering the music scene she had a hard time keeping band mates bc they couldn’t keep up with her demands and expectations. She felt an instant connection with Marina. They just clicked and understood each other.
-Then she started to see just how passionate Marina is about music and holy carp (lol) she really is amazing.
-one day Pearl hears Marina playing the piano and singing and couldn’t stop thinking how beautiful she sounds and looked.
-Pearl likes to being the big spoon when cuddling. although she’ll often wake up with Marina holding her ,tentacles holding her too tight and suction cups stuck on her face with drool on her back. even so Pearl likes to be coddled and fussed over by Marina. Rina. Hmm? and then Pearl just extends her arms and Marina instantly hugs Pearl ( a little too tight bc Pearlie is so cute!!!)
-Pearl has had personal chefs all her life, so when she decides to cook a nice romantic dinner for their 1st anniversary, Marina steps in to find the kitchen basically exploded. dishes everywhere, failed experiments poking out of the oven, flour all over the floor
-afterwards they make it a habit to cook together. Pearl has gotten much better but still prefers to cheat by microwaving some pasta and no Marina trust me i made it from scratch honest!
-Pearl likes to post a lot of pics of her and Marina in her squidstagram? (what’s would be the squid version of twitter??) the gfs shopping at Arowana mall #a day with the most beautiful Octoling in Inkopolis#u wish u were us#love # outfit on point
-Pearl also uploads a ton of photos of herself posing all thug like, surrounding herself in gold or posting a serious looking selfie with the description being like –life is too short to care what people think. Just Be you— usually people comment about how cool this pic looks. until u see a comment by Marina saying Pearl u forgot to buy milk please can u go rn now to get some?P: Marina please i’m trying to be cool…
- Marina likewise besides Posting about Pearl and selfies has pics of her gear, motercyles, her drama otps, food, and machinery. she also posts tutorials on how to get your eyeliner on point.
-whenever Marina puts her hair up in a bun or ponytail Pearl ends up blushing hard.
-it took Marina a while to find the courage to hold Pearl’s hand often when they started going out. they’d be walking side by side and Marina’s Pearl vision zero’s in to her hand swaying around, Oh i can’t! i want to just reach out and hold her hand!! then she get’s surprised when Pearl just casually slips her hand to hold her’s and Marina ex. has stopped working. Afterwards it’s just naturally for their hands to claps together.
-in reality Pearl is more shy about affection. one little unexpected touch from Marina has Pearl flustered. Marina will sometimes brush Pearl’s hair to the side and tells her how cute she looks today, the give her a kiss on the cheek. Pearl becomes a stuttering blushing mess.
-on lazy day’s Pearl likes to be in squid form and attach herself on Marina’s arm, especially if Marina is watching her fave romantic comedy show. Marina in turn wraps her tentacles around Pearl every moment she can when they’re alone in their personal space.
Marina can’t stop thinking how cute Pearl looks all wrapped around her arm that she misses what the episode is even about. Yes definitely i love this girl so much! until pearl’s tentacle reaches for the remote to change the channel for an action movie.
-then it gets troublesome when Pearl doesn’t want to let go. NO Pearlie! U can’t come with me to the Bathroom!
-since Off the Hook incorporate Octarian in their music, when they first started to write music it was all inkling. Marina started to feel like it was a bit hard keeping up singing in a different language. she also felt like nothing could really remind her of home in Inkopolis.
Pearl noticed bc Marina would start speaking more Octarian and forgetting some words in inkling. Marina then with conviction asked if they could use Octarian in their song and was a bit taken aback with Pearl saying lets go for it!! M: ?Really!!? P: sure! it’s be so fresh! M: oh um P: besides u shouldn’t forget your roots Marina M: Yes!! i’ve really been wanting to do this for a while!
then Pearl blushes and says she doesn’t have to thank her since Off the Hook is about both of them.Pearl is in charge of writing lyrics , so she hands them over when they’re done so Marina can change them. Make em flow Marina!
-Marina is basically 95%of Pearls impulse control. i’m going to miss Rina while she’s away today….i should totally buy 50 gallons of mayo and a new yacht.
-they make each other laugh all the time. how do u make an octopus laugh? 8 tickles! Pearl knows cuz she be doing just that. she’ll notice Marina might be feeling down bc she isn’t feeling inspired today and puts her head down on her desk, Pearl will go over and start tickling her causing Marina to squeal and laugh.
- -their most favorite bonding activity is having improve sessions at Pearl’s personal studio. sometimes pearl makes cheesy raps to accompany Marina’s beatboxing. Girl ur so fly! i’m touching the sky. one look into your eyes I’m feeling so hypnotized!
-Marina makes Pearl laugh by trying to rap. M: uhuh sure okay how about Banana’s are cool Banana’s are sweet ummm they sure are somthin to eat????? Pearl laughs with her and continues with the silly lyrics
- their fights usually go like splatfest . Senpai you’re wrong the salt shaker needs to be on the left of the pepper. No you’re wrong Marina your supposed to sleep with 3 pillows not one. No Pearl it’s clearly best to take a cold shower you’ll wake up faster etc
-Marina calls Pearl cute pet names like Princess,darling, honey, sweetie. Pearl gets fussy like Marina i’m a big tough squid please but she secretly likes em.
-Marina uses them especially to sweet talk her way out of something. M: ah isn’t my Princess looking so cute today~ P: oi Rina . M: yes sugar? Honey? Precious? Pearlie?? P: yeah that’s not gonna work on me. i want to know why your motorcycle is in the house. M:…wanna go for a joy ride babe??…..
-this isn’t a head cannon just cannon that Pearl and Marina usually go out together(on a date) after a splafest (JP) We all know that they love to flirt on national t.v. i believe one official interview states Pearl and Marina have great chemistry;)
