An OOC panel teaser for the next chapter of The Springlock Paradox, for no reason other than the panel made me think of the "horse staring out into the ocean" meme and I was compelled to follow up on that thought. :V
So you ever have the mixed feeling when you go and look at something you widely ignored for no reason than you just never thought about it until one day, and your reaction is both "Hot damn, why did I never look at this sooner with all the fascinating stuff in this?" as well as "Hot damn, I am glad I didn't look into this sooner because I would have imposter syndrome when writing and being unable to tell if I was copying this or not" as you look into it?
That was me with the Dayshift at Freddy's games/mythos, never had anything against it, just never had a reason to look into it until today I decided to do so and... Damn I missed out on this for all these years? But also I am kinda, glad? That I missed out on this for all these years because it means I never had the series lingering in the back of my mind when working on The Springlock Paradox and wondering if I am taking inspiration/borderline ripping off from it.
Either way, Dr. Henry Miller is such a fascinating take that the brain worms compelled me to draw him, and because I was already there and in the mood, I decided to make it a "Henry and the Henryverse" by drawing my Henry Fredburn from TSP as well as Henry Emily from UCFT because why not?
A random fnaf thought I had
To all my FNAF fans, did y'all ever at one point have a near replica or some variant of the marionette as one of your ocs at some point? I remember back in like 2016-18 I had a marionette oc called 'clockwork marionette' and I am genuinely convinced i am not the only one with a marionette oc at some point XD here is is for reference T^T you can tell the sheer amount of creative liberty that went into it XD
Well, depends on your definition of an "OC" I suppose... Working on a fnaf au comic means you gotta take your own spin of existing characters. Which to some extend one can consider an OC in the right light. And to that I would have the answer "yes" via Jack Afton and Charlie Fredburn.
But then, as the years go by and you write more and more chapters to the comic... You go... A TAD BIT... Insane. So you, because the stars align, basically create an entire marionette race
Which, that just kinda snowballs into it's own vicious cycle of "is every background character of this race now a marionette OC?" to which I am not going to answer because that is a nightmare scenario to ponder about.
But it did give me the chance to isolate one of them at random and curse them with being a named character, which means I could do whatever I want with their design. To which created Umbra, the most "true" definition of a Marionette OC.
So, to make a long ramble short, I have a varying degrees of "Yes" to the question "do you/did you ever have a fnaf marionette OC?"

The Springlock Paradox is a fever dream of a universe and while I do question it in a "what have I done" sometimes, I do not feel bad spending the last eight years spiraling into the madness that allowed me to reach this state of being. :V
Chapter 75 of The Springlock Paradox is now out... Fun fact, my birthday is coming up this Monday. And to prevent myself from stressing about working on this during that time, my brain decided to "lock in" and manifest creative energy out of nowhere to pump me up and work on many times over.

So, for those that are unaware, I am a bit of a DnD guy. And recently I have been doing some homebrew stuff, mainly as a side thing, of playable races and subclass ideas. Recently I decided to cobble them all together into one big pdf package and make them public incase anyone wanted to tempt fate and bring this to their next adventure. Everything came with flavor and vibes in mind and has gone through 0 actual playtesting or balance, so I expect things in this to be overtuned and imbalanced, but you didn't see something with this creature on the title and think you were getting something put together, now did you?
I doubt it is gonna make that big of a splash, I am not famous or popular or any of that jazz. But by making this free and public, that means there is a non-0% chance anything from this makes it to someone's table. And that does something to my soul, you know?

"A Caged Grasp"
Hey folks, 8th anniversary of The Springlock Paradox eh? Won't lie, it has definitely been a slow ass year in terms of chapters coming out. Well when you got a hyper niche piece of fan media, where a fraction of a fraction of the fanbase knows it exists, nevermind reads it, you try to do what you can to avoid burnout. And there is a difficult tightrope to balance.
Sometimes I wonder if I should be more aggressive with advertising The Springlock Paradox out there, but other times I wonder if doing so would be seen in the wrong light. It's too easy to take things out of context and pervert them to the absolute worst interpretation on the internet, but at the same time it would at least get the name out there more. Another "tightrope" situation I suppose, tis never fun for a guy with a brain wired weirdly to think about.
Nevertheless, here's to another year of TSP, I got stuff cooking and drawing, so long as people are patient for them to come, they will!
