Lando's never confirmed why, and I doubt he ever will because it's easy to write off as "he just didn't say anything." But I watch every FP, quali and race with his onboard open. After the chequered flag, Lando always thanks the team. Always. Except once. Monza '25. He was silent. And after listening to the radio back...yeah, I'd be pissed too.

Lap 44

Will: "Lando, we will box this lap onto the Soft tyre." Lando: "Do you want to box [oscar] first?" Will: "Yeah, we'll do that. We'll swap [the tyres] around, so stay out." Lando: "Well, only if he doesn't have the undercut, otherwise I'll box first." Will: "There will be no undercut." ... Will: "Confirming we are staying out." Lando: "Yeah, confirmed."

Lap 45

Oscar boxes first. Tom to Oscar: "Control the out-lap. We're boxing the cars this way round to cover Leclerc. You are free with Lando once he's ahead of the pit exit." Fastest pitstop of the race: 1.9s.

Lap 46

Lando boxes. Pitstop: 5.9s. Tom: "It will be close at pit exit. Lando had a slow stop." Lando comes out behind Oscar. Tom: "Oscar, this is a bit like Hungary last year. We pitted in this order for team reasons. Please let Lando pass and you're free to race." Oscar: "I mean, we said that a slow pit stop was part of racing, so I don't really get what's changed here, but if you really want to do it, then I'll do it." Lando gets past. Is immediately free to race. Is about half a second a lap quicker over the final stint and takes fastest lap of the race on the last lap of the race.

People still act like this was McLaren gifting Lando a place. No. Lando had pit priority because he was the lead car. He gave it up to help oscar on one condition: don't undercut me.

McLaren: "There will be no undercut." McLaren, two laps later: "So...about that..."

Will even apologized to Lando on the in-lap. Lando never replied. The only race all year where he didn't thank the team.

And somehow he was the villain. AI radio edits. Fake audio of him begging for the place. Claims McLaren rigged the championship. Meanwhile, the actual radio is just Lando getting burned after doing his teammate a favor.

Again, he was not asking to swap positions. He was asking to undercut oscar, to be allowed to pit first.

Automatic blue flag system not working, piastri confirmed to be in his mirror blindspot, not told by the team where piastri is and was in a battle with another driver.

No it literally is an "excuse", multiple factors if you will. HE DOES NOT KNOW WHERE THE CAR BEHIND IS.

Could be 10 seconds behind, 5 seconds behind, 0.1 behind he wouldn't know for said reasons above. Is he supposed to remain off the racing line or better still park the car and wait an unknown amount of time for all the cars behind to pass?

Collision happened, penalty given... he didn't switch off your guy's engine. Lmao
