Of all his teammates in F1, Lando has had the most sexual and romantic chemistry with Daniel #mytruth
One thing about George and Daniel is that they love a slutty pair of shorts
#real #facts
you can always tell when the Australian dudebros wake up because now someone with a DR3 reddit username is in every thread in existence trying to tell people they didn't watch the race if they don't think Piastri and Hadjar were much faster this weekend.
God how I wish like 99.9% of that man's "fans" would've taken his cue and followed him out of this sport.
Honestly, I wish 99.9% of fans at large would just... go. π
As a DR fan who's hated by the DR fan community, I agree. These jackholes have no idea who DR is or what he believes - not in a parasocial way, in a "acknowledging his words and actions" way - and do/say things that make no sense if you are actually a fan of the guy. So they make the (marginally) intelligent of us into the outliers and cause DR to receive hate he never deserved on his own merit. π₯΄

Oscar publicly said he refused to take the new suspension because he knew he didn't have the tyre management to adapt to it. Then promptly choked away a championship. I'd pipe down about 2025 if I were a fangirl of the fraud.
i will say if i would've just checked the result without knowing any context, i would've been happy with the result knowing what he came into this weekend facing.
but knowing that his performance was worthy of so much more, it's actually despicable to me that the team is pleased with and is saying his ultimate finishing position was all he deserved.
So, when is Stella firing Piastri then promptly resigning for not putting the needs of the team first? Or like repercussions, does this only apply when it's Lando he's threatening and abusing?
This has more to do with team leadership than the drivers themselves.
Andreas Seidl was running a racing team. He ensured both Daniel and Lando knew neither one of them were bigger than the team.
Andrea Stella is running a Boy's Home for Nicole's Parenting Failures, so Oscar thinks he's bigger than the team and the entire world resolves around his big, balding noggin with nothing much going on inside.
Why are we still being shitty about Daniel in the big 2k26? (OP in the photo, not the reblog.) If you haven't figured out everything that went wrong and/or how much Lando cares about Daniel and their friendship, that's a you problem.
And the reblog is correct, btw.
it's actually wild how many races there have been now where McLaren just straight up told Lando he had to coddle Piastri on track because Stella thinks Piastri is capable of bringing home the bigger result just for Piastri to shit the bed and for McLaren to consequently fail to bring the maximum amount of points home that they could've. Today was a massive example. Although it didn't matter much by then for the WCC, Abu Dhabi last year was a massive example. Quite frankly, Monza 2025 got all the attention because Lando takes things on the chin while Oscar cries like a little bitch, but Lando was factually the only McLaren allowed to get undercut by non-McLaren cars last year and numerous times in 2024 in order to protect Piastri's P3-P5s (seriously, McLaren sacrificed Lando WINS for that shit).
Like, at some point, actual discussions are going to be had about how many phenomenal opportunities Andrea Stella gave up during his tenure as team principal because he was afraid a 9 time race winner (many of those with Stella-favoritism asterisks beside them) doesn't have the mental strength to accept he's not on the same level as a World Champion who he had every advantage in beating to the title handed to him on a silver platter last year and still failed to do a singular thing with the unearned prioritization Stella gifted him (just like his performance today, coincidentally enough).

This is probably me being pedantic but I don't think I've ever seen a post-race driver debrief with a cut in it. Even when Lando's had to stop for people walking through.
So why does today's have a cut? McLaren, what the fuck did you edit out? What did he say that you didn't like??π
I'm not going to watch, but I bet it had to do with the team orders about racing the 81 and the subsequent horrible pit stop. π
We are literally being robbed of a proper teammate title battle, and I am sick of it. Remember last year when both McLaren drivers were actively hunting each other down for poles and wins? Sure, luck fluctuated, but this is a different story. I live for intense teammate rivalry mixed with a third-party title fight, and this year looked perfect. Mercedes and Lewis, this is everything! but Mercedesβ sheer incompetence and unreliability are completely killing the fight.
What makes it ten times worse is their blatant lack of accountability. Publicly dismissing your driver when he says something is wrong with the car? Tell me this isn't clown behaviour? All it does is fuel the fire for the media and toxic fans to question his abilities instead of addressing the literal issues.
If the issues happened three times in ten races? Fine. New regulations, shit happens. But we're talking every. single. weekend. The moment one fire is put out, and another one starts. Itβs not just a "he'll bounce" back. I've seen pure dominance when his car was fine. It's not this car doesn't suit his driving style. Itβs pure negligence. This is arguably the most crucial season of his career. He is finally fighting for a championship, and the team is dragging their feet to fix or at least discover the issue? I know the team works hard, but does working hard pay off?
Instead of trusting the driver who is actually feeling the car on track, they blame him. The media and fans eat it up because looking at actual data is too much work for them, only for the team to quietly admit weeks later that shocker the driver was right all along it WAS ON US MY BAD.
Look at the other side of the garage. When their driver complain, the team doesn't question his driving style they rush to find what's wrong and fix it. There is actual trust and urgency there they're aware this isn't just any other season where all they care about is scoring podiums and a couple of wins and it's a season were they have a huge chance in battling and winning the championship, which is why theyβre running away with it. The other garage has the exact same resources, so what is the excuse? This goes beyond incompetence.
I donβt remember Z*k Br*wn last year ever jumping on the radio to publicly dismiss his drivers' complaints, but he still gets his fare share of criticism.
And don't even get me started on the absolute lack of support. I will never forget Monaco when he fought on his OWN, or Canada where he literally DNFed from the lead and as far I'm aware they couldn't figure out the cause, yet when Kimi DNFed in Barcelona before Austria they knew why and fixed the car. This is ridiculous.
OP is spot on about the stuff regarding George/Mercedes/Toto, but the take on McLaren last year shows how good the media/team spin worked. I can't imagine holding up what McLaren did to Lando as balanced or fair. "Zak favors Lando and Andrea favors Oscar so it's balanced" is a WILD take - and something that shouldn't even happen if it were true. The team (Zak and Andrea both) constantly placed blame on Lando for things that weren't his fault, commented about his mental capabilities, and fed into the narrative that he was too emotional and not "strong" enough while his teammate was painted as some stone cold killer. The media spin really worked on y'all.
I mean, McLaren literally admitted to punishing Lando a chunk of the year for daring to actually race his teammate instead of trailing along and following their "rules" - except the telemetry showed that the fault in Lando's resulting wreck was Oscar's, not Lando's. The McLaren team strategist was also Oscar's personal strategist during this time. I could go on. But unless you pay attention to McLaren specifically, it was immediately forgotten when it came out because it looked so bad and conflicted with the narrative that was painted all over the media.
McLaren actively worked against Lando, Lando prevailed anyway, and only when it became too obvious, the truth "slipped out," and they were basically forced to let the garages operate individually did McLaren stop. You can see the immediate drop off that started when Oscar stopped receiving information/setups/strat discussion from Lando and no longer got default priority for qualifying runs and pit stops.
So yes. The take about George is completely correct and valid, but what OP (and the rest of us) are seeing now is the same BS and spin that happened to Lando last year. It's frustrating that George fans bought into the media spin and are still quoting it now, but maybe they'll realize the truth now that it's happening to their guy. I can only hope George is able to overcome like Lando and have the same outcome.
Lando won the ESPY for Best Driver!

I'm going to start a rumor that Zohran Mamdani is a Lando fan. π
I somehow wound up seeing videos from stupid fucks saying how they were going to get into Indycar until they saw the drivers at the White House - WHILE BEING FULLY INTO F1.
And these are the replies when they're called out:
IMAGINE being so privileged that you think F1 and its years of condoning human rights violations, violence, hatred, misogyny, corruption, etc. is somehow okay because you personally don't need to look at someone you don't like. F1 being the "lesser of two evils" is an INSANE fucking take when they've literally raced with missiles flying in the background.
The way I could rant on this and how the influx of these illiterate, ignorant people in fandoms are very representative of the same problems they claim to hate in the world.
(And to no one's surprise, the original video was from an 81 fan.)

Oh this EATS
Remember when they said no one would remember him as a WDC? Most forgettable champion of all time?
