Like, Charles is probably the driver right behind Lando when it comes to actually owning up to his mistakes.

i just think it's wild for him to think he needs to control every aspect of an f1 driver's life to the point he, as a team principal, is like, "but if he would've went to a club in his own free personal time, he wouldn't have been deserving of equal treatment from the team. that would've shown a lack of dedication to the team" is just a fucking absurd thing to publicly say.

Like as a Lando fan, I spent years hearing about how he didn't even deserve to breathe the same air as Charles since he hadn't won a race.

Then he won a race and the discussion became, "Well, he and his fans can't assess anyone else's skill until he wins a championship." Then he won a championship against two of the drivers who's fans were saying this stupid shit (one of whom didn't even have a championship himself).

I just hope that his poor tyre management and his inability to come back in the midfield without causing a collision is all that is needed to remind him of his place. And to remember McLaren because it needs a functional car for the driver that is worth it.
