and idk. maybe it's some of my dad's recent health challenges but it tugs at my heartstrings. and it really does emphasize how appealing and marketable he is to a large range of ages and demographics despite people trying to fit all of his fanbase into this one little box.

I'm ngl both sides of the WAG supporters annoy me. For basically every driver, not just Lando lmao. Like you have one side who when they break up are like, "I've stopped believing in love, I'm devastated, I'll never know happiness again" and it is like. It is not normal to be that emotionally invested in a relationship you are not personally involved in. Then you have the other half who will be like, "She's an ugly bitch, I hate her, how dare she even breathe the same air as my pookie wookie" and it is like yet again. You do not even know that man personally. Or the woman you're talking about for that matter. Like what are we doing here? And it's almost always grown adults on both sides of this spectrum and it's just like ...... why are you even wasting time thinking about this if it bothers you that much? It's really easy to de-engage with socials if you have to to avoid relationship news of any sort when it breaks, most socials these days have decent enough options to block certain words or phrases from appearing for you. Like I legitimately think you may be spending too much time thinking about other people's lives and relationships if your reaction to any of this is any more extreme than "That's great, hope they're happy" or "Awesome, looks like they're having fun." I don't even think there's necessarily anything wrong with making a "happy-ish" post about your fav ending a relationship with someone you weren't particularly fond of based off vibes or whatever (Lord knows some of my mutuals did when that news broke), but one post is a hell of a lot different than making hating every woman your fav remotely comes in contact with for no reason other than they have some sort of relationship, be it platonic or sexual or romantic, with your fav your entire personality and reason for being.

That said, I don't know if I necessarily agree that EVERYTHING has to be in relation to the sport either. Like, is Lando a hell of a good driver? Yes. Did I recognize that even when I first became a fan? Yes. But I do think it was a lot of his personality that drew me to him. If I was just going for following who the actual best performing on track was at that time, I would've just settled for being one of those 44 then 33 larpers lmao.

The "drama" is just social media taking everything out of perspective. In one side you have the puritans clutching their pearls over the idea of him going to a party and hooking up, on the other the weirdos that think they know better than him and have a say on his life (you don't know these people or Lando).

He's just having fun, not harming himself or others and is taking his job seriously as always; like people need to touch grass

They just jumped on being misogynistic to the women he's around because they tried it with Leclerc's wife and failed when the company they were using to attack her dispelled their own assumptions.
