i knew when i heard the announcement about the backrooms movie that the general public would severely lack a basic understanding of what it was about because the media literacy in the current day is like . gone . but somehow i'm still impressed by the ways people manage to misinterpret the meaning of both the movie and the wikidot lore (AND THE ORIGINAL POST AT THIS POINT)
as someone who's had the backrooms as a special interest for years and years now, i just like... i don't even know how to describe it
i'm happy other people are starting to get into the thing i like because it means there's more content about it that's really cool, but like . the comments on some of these things.... i have to remind myself that it's not that big of a deal LMAO
i've sat down to personally read the first 150 or so levels of the backrooms wikidot site (plus misc. other levels/entities) AND i've watched through the kane pixels webseries in its entirety at least 3 or 4 different times and i feel like it's really easy to tell that those two things are set in entirely different universes
the fact that people can't seem to tell them apart despite claiming to Know What They're Talking About genuinely baffle me because . clearly you don't know . i am very aware that these people are probably like 12 but they still make me mad
