Dude why is the kpbr fandom STILL dead after all these years 😔 I thought that the movie would help get more people into it which it probably has but they're all hiding I guess
Can someone do a comic of Grace and Rocky in the Backrooms? It would be so cool!
Yall doesn’t my aunt look like Mary Kline?

Failing Business
When the scene opened with his store being defaced with spray paint that says,”Rip Off”. I was genuinely befuddled by the message, who had beef with a failing store so much that they do a petty crime.
At first I thought it was that era where racial tensions maybe bad. We don’t really see the diversity in Santa Clara, CA since it’s supposed to highlight his isolationism in society. But that’s quickly dashed away when I looked up that it was pretty diverse in races during that timeframe, plus, it’s California. Additionally, I think the story tries to be racially blind in casting (which sends some mixed messages), so I think maybe think it’s his competitor?
I like to imagine that he started up a business first, then Big Wayne’s Furniture Barn became popular. Then people thought that Clark was the copy cat trying to ride off of Wayne’s coattails. Which further plummeted his sales.
But I thought it was weird that he’s catching so much flack because of his failing business. You’d think some people would shrug and move on. In my opinion, I’d be intrigued by Clark’s store because of the whole pirate acting. (The whiplash of side eying the therapy scene to goofily smiling at his failed commercial attempt was great). I know he would be a hit with the media if he released the failed shot, but then again he would hate it, too. Since he doesn’t want to perform a mockery of himself when he’s already at his lowest. Confidence issues and all.
This isn’t much of an analysis, but more so a dumping of thoughts.
Call me Kane Parsons the way I want her to take me back to her room
another Backrooms alternative plot idea:
After freaking out at his therapist, Clark disappears into the backrooms. His two employees discover his whiteboard map but don't know what to make of it. There is no tape on the wall. They know about his bad situation and drinking and so the Girlfriend decides to call around to see where he might be while the Boyfriend brushes it off as he's on a bender. Eventually he gets reported as a missing person and the police check with his therapist. Therapist Mary gets to thinking and goes to the store to see the map. She discovers the backrooms and finds that Clark left behind clues to find his way out, like he spray painted arrows or left cords or thread leading him back to the exit. Except it quickly becomes apparent that the backrooms have distorted these markings, and she becomes lost. The two employees may be with her. If they are, they get separated. The monster starts coming after them. Its Pirate Clark, and we have a scene where she wedges herself in a small crevice to escape him. Seeing his pained expression, hearing his cries, Therapist Mary goes full Therapy Mode. She is able to talk him down a little and he backs off, escaping into another corridor, giving her a chance to try and find the others. Maybe one is still alive, maybe they find the body of the other, and or the camcorder. Pirate Clark attacks again, about to kill, but Therapist Mary strikes again, and is able to calm Clark. He transforms a little more into his normal self. This repeats over time; she and the other character could note how they dont seem to be getting hungry or thirsty. There's tension when they run into the copies monsters and she isn't able to get through to them because they aren't people. This is where the theme of you can't save everyone comes in. The other character remarks at how well Mary seems to be handling the situation, like she knows how to hide, and she tells a little of her backstory with her mom. Clark appears and is finally talked down into being himself again. But another monster appears, like the squiggly monster from the original tapes, or possibly the dead character, killing the other and sending Mary and Clark off running. They find an escape route but the catch is that only one of them can make it out, for some reason. Mary decides to sacrifice herself and get Clark out. She says, you can't save everyone, but I can save you. He escapes. Mary then escapes the monster. Time passes. We see Mary becoming more adept at surviving the backrooms. She becomes thinner, taller, stranger, stringy. She mumbles to herself about not going outside. She regresses into a fearful childlike state, but adds in her mother's agoraphobia. She talks about it not being safe outside, that its so much better inside. We see the other monsters ignoring her. She wanders. Then she hears it: real, human voices. They're in her house. Her safe place. She bellows in rage. Footsteps take off running. She goes running after them. She has become the monster.
