My friends and I were at the school library, about to draw some art, when one of my friend’s bullies (two girls and one boy) came in and started blaming, insulting, and complaining about her.
The worst part that frustrated me was that they told her to bow and apologize (for some reason that I still can’t explain). When she refused, they started mocking her harshly while she tried to ignore them, but she ended up getting frustrated.
After that situation, when it was time for class and the bullies went upstairs, I told her that we would try locking the library door after we got inside.
Unfortunately, that didn’t go as planned.
The bullies still did the same thing to her during break time, and this time it was even harsher than before. Their insulting words gave me a bad temper, and I purposely attacked the male bully who was standing close to her face. I then grabbed and lifted a chair, almost throwing it at one of the female bullies, but I suddenly stopped when they dared me to do it.
As I froze there, I looked around at the other students—all of them my classmates—who were already staring at me like I was in some kind of karma scene.
I started thinking that I would face serious consequences if I actually threw the chair at the female bully. So instead of doing it for real, I put the chair down and immediately ran out of the library to find a teacher—the older one who had defended me from classmates insulting me yesterday.
But when I looked around, I couldn’t find her. Instead, I found some of my friendlier classmates and immediately told them what had happened and who I was looking for.
I forgot one detail: the girl, who was probably in the same grade as my friend, followed me too.
Back to the situation—when my friendly classmates heard what happened, they were shocked and immediately went downstairs to check on the incident.
My teacher had already found out what happened because my friendly classmates told her, along with her younger brother, who is in the same classroom as me.
Right when class started, the teacher announced that the manager would discuss the incident involving my friend’s bullies. Meanwhile, I felt very upset and disappointed because I thought I was going to face consequences from the manager for attacking the bullies (though luckily I didn’t, but I was still disappointed in myself).
My teacher then confronted me and told me not to do that to the bullies, saying that my friend could defend herself, even though I already knew she couldn’t because of the cyberbullying.
But then, something unfortunate happened to my friend.
After class ended, I met my friend again, but she seemed upset and unwell. I immediately went to ask if she was okay.
She told me that she didn’t feel good. Then she said that she had harmed herself and showed me her arm, which had slightly visible scars. She told me she used a pen to make those scars.
Before I could say anything, she left.
I was left devastated, not knowing how I was supposed to help her.
